Chains/The Great Reset

The elected officials are at it again. Shutting down businesses, trespassing on the rights of citizens to walk the street mask less or engage with their family and friends for holidays, a flagrant disregard for human rights guaranteed since the founding of this Republic.

Some politicisms view this as our chance to address poverty, climate change and other systemic economic disparities…a great reset of society. Among those expressing this globalist view, Prime Minister Trudeau of Canada. This blatherskite’s opinion has been embraced by the usual progressive left Democrats.

In California, Governor Gavin Newsome said last spring that 56% of the state would be infected. Never happened. However, as of November 15, currently 2.6% of the state is infected. Say what?! We’re pulling the “emergency break” and taking most of the state to a more restrictive tier according to this elitist. Never mind that he was caught dining with a large group in one of the states’ most expensive restaurants, The French Laundry.

Out of a population of nearly 40 million in the state, there have been 2 deaths under 18 years of age and 18,000 total.  The Navajo Nation was closed and under quarantine from March until August to no avail. It didn’t work. 600 deaths despite heinous restrictions. They have reinstituted this shutdown again with no proof that it worked before.  This flu is especially dangerous to certain ethnicities and age groups with underlying infirmities.  A shutdown doesn’t solve beans.

What are the grounds for shutdown, why scientific of course…who’s? The “Experts”. There are so many conflicting views. One is maintaining a 6-foot separation from other people. Seen any social distancing in the crowded aisles of Target or Costco lately? Closing the local gym, restaurant or “non-essential” business is not going to eliminate the “China Flu”. The stunning hypocrisy of these orders should enrage anyone with an IQ higher than a fencepost. The California Governor would order us to wear a cap with a propeller on it, if he could. Meanwhile, Gavin is living large and his children are in back in a private/exclusive school.  Are yours?

Governor Nuisance (Newsome) is not alone, his fellow travelers include leaders in Michigan, Oregon, and Washington operating in their power mad mode Listening to the “science” that mandates these kind fruitless shutdowns. Do they think that the pandemic is going to take a holiday? Leave for the Maldives? The equally looney Governor of Washington, Jay Inslee has announced that Thanksgiving is canceled. That solves a lot.  What next, Christmas? Don’t be surprised.

The erosion of our freedoms due to a flu epidemic is a clear violation of the Constitution and the basic tenets of society…people are not going to tolerate the hypocrisy of leaders who eat in expensive restaurants, use closed salons and send their children to private schools.

If you put an animal on a long chain and then every day, remove one link, pretty soon the animal is next to the stake with no freedom to roam.  That’s exactly what is happening to our rights, guaranteed under our Constitution, the foundational document of the greatest nation in the world. We’re losing them, one link at a time.

In the last couple of days, two well know pharmaceutical companies have announced vaccines that are 90 to 95% effective. This good news was met by derision by the son of Mario the Great, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. He doesn’t trust the vaccines because they happened under a Trump administration. Is he certain that Moderna and Pfizer, the companies that made these discoveries, planned to put out a phony placebo vaccine?  Someone is responsible for electing this nincompoop. Despite Andy’s caterwauling, a vaccine breakthrough is good news.

“Many of the great disasters of our time have been committed by experts.” That’s what Dr. Thomas Sowell, a fellow at the Hoover Institute wrote.  Our political “experts” are being led by the nose by scientific “experts” whose expertise has been called out by some of the world’s foremost epidemiologists, Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, Stanford University, Dr. Martin Kulldorff, Harvard University and Dr. Sunetra Gupta from Oxford University. They have called for "focused protection" and not shutdowns. The basis of their main argument is simple. Those who are less vulnerable should return to their normal lives, while those who are more vulnerable should be given extra protection and resources. Clearly, they’re not big fans of the camera hog, Dr. Anthony Fauci.

Clobbering the economy, keeping children out of school, and forbidding citizens to interact won’t stop the pandemic anymore the throwing one shovel of sand at a time will stop the tide. A vaccine might.
