No Gloom - No Doom
If you ever wanted to know want the American dream was all about, then listen to Senator Tim Scott’s speech to the Republican National Convention. This South Carolina native has a story that should touch every heart. A conservative Black, who was first elected to the House of Representatives from a majority white district encompassing Charleston, and then to the United States Senate, told an uplifting story about his journey. His speech drove a stake into the heart of non-stop Democrat allegations of “systemic racism” resident in the country and by association, the Republican party.
The RNC began with speaker after speaker, from all walks of life, delivering positive messages about what’s great about this country. Naturally, Biden supporters and pundits said the RNC painted a dark and depressing picture of America. Evidently, they were watching reruns of last week’s DNC Monday night festivities. MSNBC and CNN were in fact-checking the Republican speakers in real time grasping at the smallest threads in a grade school “See I told you so” effort, to diminish the affirmative messaging. Why didn't they do same at last week’s DNC? Chis Cuomo, the Pinocchio of CNN, opined that Democrats don’t lie like Republicans. Maybe he forgot the lies his brother, the Governor of New York, told about the nursing home deaths from the Wuhan flu.
One by one the additional accusations against the Republicans of misogyny, xenophobia, homophobia, and heartlessness, that surface every major election are being destroyed by real Americans who present logical, realistic, and life-based experiences that crush this narrative. So on point is their communication so far, that even Nancy Pelosi suffered a major escalation of unhinged rhetoric. She went completely off the rails and labeled Republicans as "domestic enemies" and "enemies of the state".
Former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley, chosen by President Trump is hardly a “enemy of the state”. She spoke about growing up as a child of Indian immigrants in South Carolina who became the first female Indian American governor elected in the country. She said Americans are "blessed" to live in the United States, even on its worst day. In her remarks Ambassador Haley characterized the current Democrat party with the following perceptive statement, "Their vision for America is socialism, and we know that socialism has failed everywhere. They want to tell Americans how to live and what to think”.
The socialist vision promoted by the current progressive Democrats was debunked by another speaker, Cuban American businessman Maximo Álvarez. He fled Cuba as a child and warned that promises and mob violence characterizing the today’s liberal, leftist Democrat party remind him of the nation he fled.
Focusing on Presidential nominee Joe Biden and the socialist philosophy held by a clique within the party, Maximo said, “I’m speaking to you today because I’ve seen people like this before. I’ve seen movements like this before. I’ve seen ideas like this before and I’m here to tell you, we cannot let them take over our country. Those false promises, spread the wealth, free education, free healthcare, defund the police, trust a socialist state more than your family and community, they don’t sound radical to my ears. They sound familiar". A man who heard the hollow promises of Fidel Castro and left.
Finally, there was Herschel Walker, Heisman trophy winner, successful businessman and friend of President Trump who said, “Growing up in the Deep South, I've seen racism up close. I know what it is -- and it isn't Donald Trump. It hurt my soul to hear the terrible names that people call Donald. The worst one is racist. I take it as a personal insult that people would think I’ve had a 37-year friendship with a racist.”
The narrative that is coming from these initial speakers is impossible to ignore because their credulity is unimpeachable and unquestionably sincere. Still the media desperately promotes Joe Biden and slobbers over him as the man will solve the pandemic, end poverty, save the planet from climate change, and end racism, if he is elected president.
The cold hard facts are these. Joe Biden has been in the DC swamp for nearly a half a century with not one piece of significant legislation attributed to his name. Long on grandiloquence and short on accomplishments. He’s not the national political Messiah he’s more like Methuselah.
