All we are saying...
…is give peace a chance. John Lennon wrote “Give Peace A Chance" during the Vietnam War urging listeners to support peace efforts and challenge war and violence. The song's enduring message encourages people to actively consider and work towards peace as a viable alternative to conflict, rather than a naive or dogmatic ideal. President Trump has achieved that, however temporary, in the conflict between Israel and Hamas. While the guns are silent, much work remains.
The media was decent enough to give the President props for his efforts and remarkably didn’t hammer him for about 48 hours. Of course, that is now over, and they are back to their repetitive hate Trump dialog. The legacy media almost gleefully reported that the Nobel Peace Prize was given to a Venezuelan dissident, Maria Corina Machado. The Committee recognized her "tireless work promoting democratic rights for the people of Venezuela and for her struggle to achieve a just and peaceful transition from dictatorship to democracy".
In response to questions about why President Donald Trump did not receive the award for his efforts to end wars throughout the world, Nobel Committee chair Jorgen Watne Frydnes invoked the concepts of "courage and integrity" discussing the committee's principled and independent selection process. Frydnes said, "This committee sits in a room filled with the portraits of all laureates, and that room is filled with both courage and integrity." What are you really saying Jorgen?
No offense to Ms. Machado, but Trump has been far more effective in resolving worldwide conflicts than she has. The bias of the Nobel Committee reflects the continued hate Trump mantra that infects the liberal elites of the world and Norway. Remember that President Barack Obama got the prize for just being Barack Obama. What conflicts did he ever resolve? Even he questioned why he got it in 2009.
Some prominent Democrats did praise Trump’s efforts. Old foe Hillary Clinton had to admit praise for Trump’s handling of the Israel-Hamas war. “I really commend President Trump and his administration.” Jake Sullivan, President Biden’s former national security advisor, begrudgingly credited Trump with ending the conflict saying, “It’s only now, after all that time, that we have gotten to a deal”. Former President Obama himself even praised the deal in a post on X but failed to include President Trump’s name in his comments. Anyone surprised?
The enormity of the peace deal that President Trump engineered is getting lost in the news cycle. The focus of the legacy media is the government shutdown, the communist running for mayor in New York and the never-ending attacks on ICE officers. Now Trump is faced with negotiating peace in Ukraine, peace between the Democrats and Republicans so the government can reopen. Trump is watching his hometown buying the bullschiff spewed by a 33-year-old Marxist mayoral candidate who has never managed even a hot dog stand. Finally, he has to find a way to rein in the numbskull governor of Illinois who doesn’t seem to understand that the Nation has laws regarding those who enter the country illegally.
All we are saying is give Trump a chance, national media, instead of critiquing his every domestic and foreign policy move based on the talking points issued by the smug Georgetown elites led by a former President who is not feeling relevant. Like Lazarus, Obama has risen to seize the leadership of the Democrat party since enfeebled Joe, babbling Kamala or Senator Chuck “U” Schumer are incapable of leading. The media hangs on every utterance of his staccato, pause ridden speaking style. A style that makes him sound contemplative but in fact is annoying. It is sometimes described as intellectual stammering.
Obama has injected himself into foreign policy. He could be in violation of the Logan Act passed in 1799. The Logan Act is a U.S. federal law that makes it illegal for a private U.S. citizen to communicate with a foreign government without specific United States’ government authority, if the intent is to influence the Nation’s foreign policy. Old Barack has been spotted recently at Number 10 Downing Street in London. Doubtful he was there for teatime. He also has taken an active role in promoting California Governor Newsom’s Proposition 50, designed to remake congressional districts favoring Democrats, but hasn’t endorsed his old pal Cuomo for New York City mayor. Why?
Like Clinton and Bush have, Barack needs to recognize that the country has only one President. The Nation does not need a “Meddler-in-Chief” but does need a peace maker.
