Christmas Presents
About this time every year there is a rush to fill submitted Christmas gift lists. Then on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day the gifts are opened with some being returned on the 26th because, who really who wants a gasoline powered turtleneck sweater? However there are some gifts that shouldn’t be returned as the receivers should be thankful they got them. Just a few to consider.
Honesty. Yup, good old-fashioned honesty is a gift folks can use, especially from the media. Straight up reportage from today’s “journalists” is almost extinct. It’s on the endangered species list at many media outlets. Just a quick example. Monday, Joe Biden had a ridiculous imitation of a press conference with Zelenski of Ukraine. Joe was clearly reading his answers. So how did he know the questions? Did any major media outlet report this? Nope. Some unknown rube from Reuters asked two questions and Joe never looked up while giving his answers. You don't have to be Inspector Clouseau to figure out the media fix is in whenever Joe is in front of the press. This is an egregious example of what the independent press has become.
While on the subject of honesty, how about some from the President. The country understands the Hunter’s grifting situation, higher prices for food and energy, and his obvious mental decline which make it unrealistic for him to seek reelection and continue in office until he’s 86. Be honest with the folks Joe and step aside, you don’t have the chops for the Presidency.
A secure border would be a huge gift to the Nation. Just where in the Constitution does it state that the President doesn’t have to maintain the security of the country’s borders? Someone tell Biden that thousands of illegal aliens are flooding every major city in the United States. These are not “undocumented migrants”. That woke political description progressives would have you believe does not obfuscate the cold hard fact that these “asylum seekers” aren’t fleeing the harsh realities of there home countries. Baloney, they are here for the current governmental largess they receive when they slip into the country. Judging from the pictures, a lot of them are well dressed, carrying cell phones and luggage. Not exactly tourists. Consider this: 25,000 Chinese refuges, the vast majority are young men of military age, have been appended and released on the southern border. Just how exactly did they managed to get out of one of the most controlled societies on the planet, cross the Pacific Ocean and end up on the Arizona border? National security concerns anyone?
An end to the crazed Muslim jihad against western civilization and the Jewish state. A gift the entire world needs for certain. Nobody in Europe or America has mounted an 8th century crusade to lay waste to their existence. So leave the rest of us alone. Mecca seems relatively safe from rocket attacks. Only when the Muslim zealots find themselves in power with serious weapons, does some nation have to respond (usually the United States or Israel) to give them a reality check. The same reality check is needed for the ceasefire idiots, backing Hamas, who blocked a freeway in Los Angeles. One wonders when the horror of this primitive lunacy will be reined in.
The biggest gift the Nation could hope for 2024, would be an honest Presidential election. Everyone voting on the same day and using paper ballots, while retro, would give a measure of confidence to the electorate. There wouldn’t be all the controversy about technology, i.e., rigged electronic voting machines, questionable ballot counting behind closed doors and so on. Candidates would have to debate at least three times with moderators chosen by each party to ensure fairness, instead of the usual agenda driven news readers asking the questions.
There are a lot of gifts that Americans could ask Santa for. These are just a few. Readers no doubt can think of many that would make a significant difference in their daily lives. Gifts healing the damage to the Nation, that is becoming increasingly obvious to society, are needed now more than ever.
