D.E.I.
Senator Tim Scott is a decent man. He’s the black United States Senator from South Carolina and a Republican. He’s running for President of the United States. In his announcement speech, Senator Scott remarked that his family had gone from cotton to Congress in three generations. His family managed this without DEI. So, what’s DEI?
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) is a set of principles that large corporations, government agencies, and schools have increasingly incorporated into their work environments, often mandating employees receive such training. These principles, rooted in Marxism, are essential vehicles for left-wing radical ideology and partisan progressive political activism.
Companies, medium and large, have to report data every year to Washington on the composition of their workforce, gender, race, and ethnicity. Those companies who are federal contractors have to set goals. Firms have this data, but in most cases only a handful of executives and federal regulators see it, because by statute it is confidential. That’s why there is so much hullabaloo about ensuring that the LGBTQ+ community is not only represented in the workplace but in the customer base as well. Never mind that the percentage of the community is less that 4% of the American population.
No one should be the victim of discrimination, but on the other hand no one should be the victim of a forced unwelcomed agenda in the workplace or the marketplace or the schoolhouse. That brings us back to the presidential sweepstakes. Those who whole heartedly embrace DEI are the progressive liberal socialist Democrats who are just a hair’s breadth away from being devoted followers of Mao and Lenin. They do not embrace a conservative Black man like Senator Tim Scott, who has lifted himself up without their patronage.
Noted political pundit and host of the ABC gabfest, “The View”," Joy Behar said the following. “He’s one of these guys, like Clarence Thomas, Black Republican, who believes in pulling yourself up by your bootstraps, rather than understanding the systemic racism that African Americans face in this country and other minorities. He doesn’t get it. Neither does Clarence. That’s why they’re Republicans." Nothing like a clueless old white lady who once dressed up in blackface offering her expertise on what it’s like to grow up black in the South.
Another View co-host Sunny Hostin said, “One of the issues that Tim Scott has is that he seems to think, ‘Because I made it, everyone can make it.’ Ignoring, again, the fact that he’s the exception and not the rule. And until he’s the rule, then he can stop talking about systemic racism." Genius pure genius, Sunny. She is the epitome of the enlightened DEI thought process. Tim Scott made sure he wasn’t the “rule” through his own drive.
On Monday, Senator Scott accepted an invitation to appear on The View. According to reports, the ladies were flummoxed by Scott’s brilliant articulation of his conservative, faith-based views. It would be a gross understatement to opine that these ladies were out of their league as a result of his appearance. The View’s panel is one of the strongest proponents of the DEI movement and yet the most vitriolic of the hosts, Joy (Joyless) Behar was mysteriously absent. Evidently, the heat was too much in the kitchen for old Joy.
If you are brighter than a 25-watt bulb, you know that the Nation would be a damn sight better off if we had more Tim Scotts and less Al Sharptons. Senator Scott’s positive message about opportunity, freedom, faith, and self-confidence, regardless of one’s political leanings, should be the norm, rather than the vitriol spewed daily by race baiting bomb throwers like the Reverend Al Sharpton.
Senator Scott may not get elected President, but the example he has set, should be one for all who seek the office.
