Dereliction of Duty

When you’re in command as a military leader, and an act of willful stupidity takes place, it is known as dereliction of duty. It is a failure to do what you should do as part of your job. Joe, as Commander in Chief, is responsible for the safety of American citizens in Afghanistan.  The same holds true if you abandon your post. Biden is guilty of dereliction and abandonment of his post. This doddering old loon, masquerading as the President of the United States, ordered this “withdrawal”, which increasingly looks like a surrender. Hiding out at Camp David rather than operating from Oval Office during a time of crisis, constitutes abandoning your post.

There is still an element of the mainstream press that is trying to throw some shade on Joe.  Frankly, a solar eclipse over Washington DC, couldn’t give this incompetent enough shade. The man they touted as a steady hand, the most experienced foreign and domestic policy candidate for President in history, is in fact an empty suit.  The emperor has no clothes. There isn’t one clear thinking Democrat, as of this writing that is endorsing what Joe Biden has done.

The remedies for this malfeasance, this dereliction are simple. Joe can resign the Presidency; he can be impeached for failure to uphold his oath of office; or the Vice President and the cabinet can invoke the 25th Amendment to the Constitution thus removing him from office. The chances that of any of these scenarios will happen are slim and none.

If Joe has any cognitive ability left, he might want to grow some stones and tell the Taliban leaders that they must agree within 24 hours to let the 10,000 to 15,000 Americans, plus the Afghani contractors be granted safe passage to the airport.  Further that the United States will remain until all our military equipment is shipped safely out of the country. Failure to do that will result in air attacks on their home villages and families, as Trump promised their leader Abdul Baradar if he violated the signed Doha Agreement.  The early betting is that Joe hasn’t got the “stones” to affect this.

What is really striking, aside from the human tragedy that’s taking place as the stone age governance of Afghanistan occurs, is the total silence of the “81 million” Biden voters on social media praising his leadership on the Afghani withdrawal, the border debacle, or the high cost of energy. They reveled in his basement campaign where in carefully scripted appearances he told Americans that he was the “unifier”, the answer to the “mean tweeter”, that he would “Build Back Better”. A bunch of basement baloney.  Turns out that he spun fairy tales that would make Hans Christian Anderson proud. Joe Biden is profoundly unable to execute his duties as President.

So, this week the spin started Tuesday when Americans were left to rely on Jake Sullivan, the National Security Advisor, whose credentials when researched reveal an egghead with practical experience as a policy wonk and democratic operative, to let the country know what the deuce is going on. In a joint briefing on the situation, he was aided by the very credible Pinocchio Psaki. Perhaps Joe couldn’t make it because he was stuck in the Camp David basement. What the Nation got was some new woke phrases that the decisions were “clear eyed”, and data would be “hot washed”.  Really? No one with half a brain could be reassured that this clown show was remotely competent.

Biden had an edited interview Wednesday, with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos and made an unbelievably stupid statement when asked if withdrawal could have been handled differently. He replied, “The idea that somehow, there's a way to have gotten out without chaos ensuing—I don't know how that happens." Joe looked like the guy yelling at the neighborhood kids to get off his lawn. Something is wrong with Biden, and the media is asking the folks to pretend there isn’t. It’s impossible for any keen observer not to notice.

Later that day, the State Department trotted out Wendy Sherman, Deputy Secretary of State, who babbled on for about 20 minutes in diplomat speak, which means after she finished the Nation didn’t know any more than when she started. No definite plan in place to get our citizens to the airport. No idea how many are trapped. Who’s running this circus? Our Allies throughout the world are questioning the core competence of Biden’s regime. Members of the British parliament have condemned Joe’s capricious action.

Her appearance was then followed by a Pentagon press conference featuring Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, General Mark Milley. Austin thanked the military for dealing with the situation in Haiti and the pandemic. He did thank those who have served in combat to his credit. Then Milley said we were conducting a non-combat evacuation mission and that we had managing a deliberate and well-planned draw down of our forces. Who was he kidding? We’re going to continue to “deconflict” with the Taliban. Nothing worse than a couple of military leaders who blow blue smoke and deflect. Finally, Secretary Austin said, "We don't have the capability to go out and collect large numbers of people." What kind of a dumbbell discloses this to the enemy?  No wonder we’re in the current mess. Meanwhile it’s reported that British paratroopers are going into to Kabul to rescue and escort their citizens to the airport…and we’re not? Despicable.

This crisis is Biden’s Dunkirk moment without a happy ending. Rather than address the current disaster, he took the time on Wednesday to talk about masks, the pandemic, and vaccinations.  A lame attempt to change the narrative. We’ve heard this ad nauseum. A 15-minute blathering read from the teleprompter after which he turned on his heel and walked out, taking no questions from the press.  He’s abandoned his post. Once again, he’s out of touch with the realities facing this Nation, in Afghanistan and on the Southern border. If just one American is left behind because of Joe’s continued ignorance due to his inability to make sound decisions as Commander in Chief, he should be swiftly court martialed.

Today Joe read a speech with the Vice President, the Secretary of State and the Secretary of Defense by his side What followed in today’s speech and press conference was a lot of double talk, that we would rely on the good graces of the Taliban to help us get our folks to the Airport. The same Taliban that according to reports, are killing men, women, and children for any association with the United States. There are multiple accounts that evacuees are trapped. No commitment to send our military out to rescue Americans like the British and French have. He claimed that our NATO allies are standing by us. Not based on what’s being said in the British Parliment. Joe is a spineless jellyfish with the courage of Beaudry Robert "Bowe" Bergdahl, the United States Army soldier who deserted his post and was held captive by the Taliban for 5 years. Biden claims he has the carrot but is clueless on how to use the stick. He lives in an alternative universe.

Taking questions from five preselected reporters he danced around their questions, checking his notes/talking points, and answered in his inimitable, blubbering, mangled syntax. There still was no clarity or plan on how to get our citizens out.

This is dereliction of duty of the highest order. Getting Americans out of Afghanistan is all about resolve and commitment. Anyone with the IQ higher than that of a hummingbird knows that. That was not evident in his speech or press conference. Joe’s attempt to reassure the Nation fell painfully short.

Joe Biden is a failure in both deed and word.  He must be replaced before there is irreputable damage to the Nation. Send Joe to his beach house on the Delaware shore. Kamala Harris is warming up in the bullpen. Given her nonexistent vast foreign policy experience, especially as border czar, there’s no way she can save the game, but hope springs eternal. Not a desirable alternative by any stretch of the imagination but sadly the only one.
