Good vs Evil

In a World Cup match, the United States beat the Republic of Iran.  Was this good vs evil?  Some would characterize it as that, in view of the Iranians treatment of women.  In case you’ve been living under a rock, the heinous Iranian Secret Police beat a young woman to death because her head was improperly covered according to their rigid religious dictates.  That’s evil.  The protests have been significant within the country. What video has been seen shows the Revolutionary Guard beating and shooting the demonstrators. But then again when a country is ruled by a vicious twelfth century theocracy nothing should surprise. The Iranian soccer players who protested this act, by not enthusiastically singing their national anthem, now must return home to face the evil that is their government. They won’t be getting a parade.

There’s a lot of good vs evil going around.  Take the case of Twitter’s new owner, Elon Musk. Since he took control of the popular social media site, the progressive left has labeled him the incubus. Twitter was the repository of decidedly biased information and would ban any conservative for the slightest perceived offense to the liberal agenda.  The former executives banned the Babylon Bee, a notoriously funny internet publication that needled the left relentlessly. Everyone knows they banned former President Trump, blaming him for the January 6th riot. So now is Twitter evil when it used to be good? Ask a progressive liberal.

Biden recently weighed in on banning assault weapons again with the recent outbreak of mass shootings. Who’s evil, the weapon or the shooter? Never mind that Joe wouldn’t know the different between an assault weapon and a bowl of Jell-O. He might ask his secret service detail since they carry assault weapons. The Secret Service uses the HK MP5, which is a submachine gun, in addition to their Glock pistols. The recent mass murder weapons were as follows: a pistol was used in the Maryland Walmart, a pistol was used in the Virginia football player killings on the bus and a long knife was used to murder four college students in Idaho. The Nation has an “evil” problem, never mind that the 99.99% of legal gun owners are good, law-abiding citizens. Say something about evil, Joe.

But the most egregious example of good vs evil is playing out in China. The President of China, Xi Jinping, presides over one of the most repressive regime in the history of the world. The Covid lockdowns have reached draconian levels in what is already a dystopian society that is beginning to rival North Korea. The genesis of the current protests began when a high-rise apartment fire killed 40 to 50 men, women, and children, who were trapped in their locked down building. Some reports state that doors had been welded shut by the authorities, preventing firefighters from rescuing residents. Good ordinary Chinese have taken to the streets to protest the lockdowns. They are met with police beating and arresting them. It’s a fair bet that this evil will triumph.  Sadly.

Everyone knows what is evil and can cite what they consider to be evil.  The problem is that too many folks won’t speak up against it to their friends, neighbors or report malevolent behavior to the media or the constabularies. The United States is a noble Nation, that seems to many in the heartland, to have lost its way. The coastal progressives who control the media aren’t going to call out the real evil seen every day: the fentanyl epidemic, the human trafficking at the southern border, allowing the suffering of the homeless addicts populating the streets, and the Antifa mobs harassing anyone who doesn’t agree with their screwed-up concept of civilization.

Nope, these coastal progressives would rather rail about restricting your rights granted by the second amendment and allowing abortions up to the day of birth.  Not a word about the aforementioned. So what’s really evil? Think about it.
