Grievance
While the Nation was celebrating the 250th anniversary of the most successful revolution in human history, a revolution whose tenets are irreconcilable with a speech that New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani felt compelled to give on the 3rd of July. It was filled with Marxist lies about this Nation’s founders and the well-being of its citizens. The media reported it as a counter to the groundswell of patriotic fervor and speeches to celebrate Independence Day. Unfortunately, Zohran and his fellow Leftists/Communists are gaining traction within the Democrat Party by embracing anti-Western, third world beliefs. It is absurd that is happening.
The worst part about Zohran Mamdani’s relentless America bashing is his ingratitude. America was already the most tolerant and prosperous Nation on earth when his wealthy family of upper caste Indian colonizers from Uganda chose to come here over anywhere else in the world. Americans had spent over 200 years sacrificing, and building New York City into the place it was when they arrived. Yet in his Independence Day speech, he repays that opportunity by painting this Nation as nothing but a bunch of bigots and oppressors. This clown is about as genuine as a Rolex purchased from some guy in an alley off 42nd Street.
He acts this way while never having filled out a real job application, and never once worried about making rent or a living here. Zohran is a lifelong attention seeking narcissist who was handed every advantage, and he now devotes himself to reprimanding the country that gave his family sanctuary. He is truly the elitist bigot he pretends the men before him were.
If America were truly the oppressive Nation he describes, his own story wouldn’t have been possible. His life is proof that the American Dream is still real, yet he spends his time attacking the very country that made his success possible. What’s so frustrating is that Mayor Mamdani has an incredible story to tell. He and his family immigrated to America, achieved success, built wealth, and he became mayor of the Nation’s largest city because of the opportunities this country provides. Instead, every chance he gets, this POS denigrates America. Just another community organizer. Another apologist for "American Exceptionalism." A Communist.
Zohran couldn't wait to mention that America has the world's first trillionaire. His name is Elon Musk and he's actually from the continent of Africa, same as Mamdani. Elon is proud to be an American. Zohran is apparently not, based on his statements. Elon came to this Country with nothing but the lint in his pockets. He built businesses. He employs hundreds of thousands of people, paying them high salaries and offering great benefits. Zohran has built exactly nothing in his 35 years on this planet.
The legacy media does not merely report the criticism by these radicals. Too often, they feed it, package it, and sell it back to the public as dire moral urgency. It’s epidemic and broadcasters report them with uncanny regularity. Look no further than the coverage another prime purveyor of grievance gets, the Reverend Al Sharpton. Al has Olympic sprinter speed, rushing to the scene when anyone claims they have been aggrieved. He’s built his reputation on it, enjoys a broadcast career on cable MSNOW and a healthy income from the National Action Network (not a church).
No examination of grievance would be complete without mention of the “Grievance Gals” of ABC’s The View. The show remains a lightning rod for political controversy, finding itself at the center of several high-profile real-time headlines. Panelists Joy Behar and Sonny Hostin are particularly nasty, constantly whining about how President Trump is ruining their lives and the country. Moderator Whoopi Goldberg throws down the race card every chance she gets. Realistically these ladies live in an insulated bubble with an income and lifestyle unknown to the majority of Americans. Yet this program continues to air, stirring up bored non-working liberal women who chant “Trump is the devil” and in all likelihood subscribe to the current incorrect belief that America is filled with bigots and oppressors.
Grievance begins with a legitimate impulse, people name a wrong and demand repair. No free society should dismiss grievance itself. Injustice is real, and silence often protects power. The danger comes when grievance stops being a path to reform and becomes a political identity, or a media strategy. Then resentment is no longer a problem to solve; it is a resource to harvest that the Leftist/Communists will use to promote unrest and revolution.
When victimhood becomes currency, public actors learn to spend it. Media rewards outrage, institutions perform sympathy, and politicians mobilize resentment more easily than responsibility. The cost is moral inflation. If every slight is oppression and every disagreement an attack, actual injustice becomes harder to see. The language of harm loses force through overuse. That hurts the people who most need justice, because their serious claims must compete in a marketplace crowded with exaggeration.
If a society rewards those who preserve its wounds more than those who heal them, no one should be surprised when resentment becomes its most powerful institution. We should refuse that bargain instead, reward truth over outrage, repair over performance, and courage over cultivated resentment.
In his speech on July 3rd at Mount Rushmore, President Trump said the following about those who promote a aggrieved dystopian view of the United States.
"As for those who peddle Marxist lies about our heritage, tell our children that we live on stolen land, or that our heroes were oppressors, they’re doing something much worse than slandering our past. They are slandering and attacking our future. Not going to let that happen. You can be a communist or you can be a patriot. You cannot be both."
He’s right.
