Leavin’ DC

“All my bags are packed
I'm ready to go…”

President Joe Biden is not singing the John Denver classic, Leavin’ on a Jet Plane, just yet. However, the Washington DC swells are starting to turn on him, led by Washington Post columnist David Ignatius, a confirmed Biden acolyte. The New York Times opinion columnist Ross Douthat has also joined the calls that are growing every day for Joe to circle the wagons and put out the campfire. He’s too old to run for reelection seems to be the growing consensus and this opinion is further accelerated by his obvious cognitive decline.

This problem of Biden’s age and diminished capacity has been bubbling under the surface of beltway politics for a while, but the issue became more apparent during his recent press conference in Hanoi.  A fumbling, disjointed 31 minutes of mumbling and whispering capped off with his own press secretary shutting him off as he announced, “I’m going to bed.” Then there was Joe in Anchorage, Alaska on a refueling stop giving September 11 remarks. It did not go well especially when he stated that he was walking around Ground Zero on September 12.  Fact is, Joe was speaking on the floor of the United States Senate that day.

Of course, none of this was widely reported in the mainstream corporate media as they continue to throw shade on Biden’s growing ineptitude. But with the Congress back in session after their summer break, his allies in the media will be hard pressed to continue their absence of honest reportage. The information discovered so far about the Biden family grift is voluminous. It is not like the phony dossier concocted by Democrat operatives to go after Trump is fueling this inquiry.  This data comes straight from the horses’ mouth, Biden family business associates and partners, a lot of them.

More evidence is bound to surface as the House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has announced that there will be an impeachment inquiry.  That action will enhance the ability of the three House Committees investigating Hunter Biden’s overseas “business ventures” to subpoena relevant files. They already have bank records, wire transfers, text messages, emails, voicemails from Joe to Hunter telling him he’s in the clear.  Then there is the whistle blower sworn testimony from the IRS agents who were blocked from pursuing all avenues in their investigation. Two business partners outright stated that Joe was referred to as The Brand, The Big Guy, and The Chairman. There are pictures of and documented meetings where Joe Biden was with Hunter’s clients. Most damning is video of Biden bragging how he got the Ukrainian prosecutor who was looking into corruption at Burisma, fired. That was the company that paying Hunter Biden $83,000 a month to advise them on energy.

Yet the House Minority Leader Hakeem Jefferies claims there is no evidence of Joe Biden being involved at any level. Remarkably every major Democrat is spouting the identical talking points when it comes to this possible corruption. All are using phrases such as “without evidence,” “no evidence,” or “no direct evidence” to describe the House Republican investigation. Gotta hand it to the Democrats, they close ranks like lemmings and blindly march on without the slightest bit of curiosity.  At the least one would think they would welcome a vigorous vetting to clear Joe’s name. Not so fast, Special Assistant to the President and spokesperson for the White House Counsel’s office, Ian Sams, sent in a powerful letter sent to news organizations on Wednesday stating the following. "It’s time for the media to ramp up its scrutiny of House Republicans for opening an impeachment inquiry based on lies." Can you imagine a Republican White House with the hutzpah to tell the corporate media who and what to cover?

Meanwhile, with gas and diesel prices higher throughout the Nation, the President wandered off to Maryland and read a speech about how his economic policies have made life better for all Americans. More whispering and shouting as he read. Yet another tall tale from him in his speech as he remarked about how he taught political science at the University of Pennsylvania for four years. Nope. Never happened. Just like Joe has never been to a gas station or grocery store lately, so how would he know that life is better economically for Americans?

Naturally, not a peep about his son Hunter being indicted for three felony gun charges in Delaware today. No word about the potential tax evasion or money laundering charges from the faux Republican special counsel David Weiss.  Only took him five years to bring the felony gun charges, when the evidence was overwhelming on day one.  Remember ol’ Dave used to work with the President’s late son Beau when he was Delaware Attorney General. He’s avoiding Hunter’s income tax skirting and the grifted foreign money because that possibly involves the President. The fix is in.

Thinking Americans know that this hasn’t been a stellar week for the Biden clan, given how Joe has stepped in it repeatedly. But Joe doesn’t need to fly anywhere as long as his continual confusion, lying and economic ignorance is hidden from the Nation by a majority his pals in the media.

Don’t pack your bags yet Joe.
