Quislings
A quisling describes an individual who acts as a traitor. The noun is derived from the name of Vidkun Quisling, who betrayed his own country Norway, and collaborated with the Nazis during World War II.
According to an investigation by Tulsi Gabbard, the Director of National Intelligence (DNI), there were a number of “quislings” in the administration of former President Barrack Obama who concocted the hoax known as Russiagate. She has stated that there is evidence Obama was the principal progenitor of the scandal that consumed the first term of Trump’s presidency. Needless to say, her revelations have rocked the Washington DC deep state swamp.
Obama’s inner circle, who worked to alter the real intelligence assessments and gave eventual credence to the Steele Dossier, were his trusted advisors Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, CIA Director John Brennan, National Security Advisor Susan Rice, Secretary of State John Kerry, Attorney General Loretta Lynch, and FBI Assistant Director Andrew McCabe. Not exactly Barack’s “B” team by any means.
In a White House press briefing Wednesday, Gabbard dropped the following bombshell.
“There is irrefutable evidence that details how President Obama and his national security team directed the creation of an intelligence community assessment that they knew was false. They knew it would promote this contrived narrative that Russia interfered in the 2016 election to help President Trump win, selling it to the American people as though it were true. It wasn’t. There was a gross politicization and manipulation of intelligence by the Obama administration intended to delegitimize President Trump even before he was inaugurated, ultimately usurping the will of the American people.”
The ensuing investigations fueled by the false narrative cast a long disruptive shadow over the first term of President Trump’s administration. It effectively hamstrung his governance. The hoax gave birth the Mueller Investigation led by the former FBI director, Robert Mueller. It turned out to be a fool’s errand as it ultimately concluded there was nothing to the allegations that Trump was in cahoots with the Russians to win the 2016 election. Yet the cloud over Trump’s presidency lingered throughout his term thanks to the legacy media who stubbornly clung to this false story.
So, what have the usual suspects in the legacy media decided to do in light of this explosive story? The collective have focused their journalistic chops on the Jeffery Epstein matter and Trump’s past relationship with the sexual trafficker. Trump for his part has stated that he wants the grand jury testimony about Epstein and all pertinent data released as he has nothing to hide.
Rather than look into the veracity of DNI Gabbard’s analysis of the Russiagate story, the progressive media is taken “Whataboutism” to new uncharted heights. CNN cut away from the White House Press Briefing, their commentator Jim Sciutto calling for the charges to be fact checked. He was joined by CNN National Affairs Correspondent Jeff Zeleny who said that Gabbard’s comments and the document release was “hardly information that we should be repeating.” They would rather go down the rabbit hole that is the Epstein chronicle, hoping for some damaging information on the President.
Never mind that Gabbard had released previously classified and verifiable intelligence documents regarding this sordid operation. The rest of the legacy media has stuck to their reportage about an Epstein cover up and largely ignored the Gabbard press briefing. CNN’s disdain for the reported facts of the meetings was coordinated no doubt with their pals in the Obama camp who issued this statement given by spokesman Patrick Rodenbush.
“Out of respect for the office of the presidency, our office does not normally dignify the constant nonsense and misinformation flowing out of this White House with a response, but these claims are outrageous enough to merit one. The bizarre allegations are ridiculous and a weak attempt at distraction.”
If this is indeed the case, then why doesn’t the mainstream media pursue the truth of the matter with the same gusto and zeal exhibited by Woodward and Berstein during the Watergate matter. They should be eager to clear name and reputation of all the named participants in the conspiracy as outlined by DNI Gabbard. That’s not happening as they continue to investigate and speculate about Jeffery Epstein, hoping to discover some heinous crime that can be tied to Trump. Won’t happen because if there was anything, Sleepy Joe and his gang would have leaked it last fall to swing the election to Kamala Harris. That’s a stone cold fact because their hatred for all things Trump was, and is so great.
It should come as no surprise the “Swamp” is populated with quislings and snakes. As the draining continues, more will be exposed in what will be a painful process, especially for those who carried the water to fill it.
