The Walkabout
The term “walkabout” is an Australian slang term which means that you’re looking for someone/thing and couldn't find him/it. Usually, folks will say when someone is gone, they are on a “walkabout”, possibly traveling. The British define a “walkabout” as an informal walk among a crowd conducted by an important visitor. The late Queen was fond of doing this.
President Joe Biden is practicing an American version of a walkabout to the distress of his staff and Democrat partisans. What’s really upsetting to them is Joe is combining the “freeze” with his wandering about. Invariably someone has to gently talk him out of the freeze and direct him to where he’s supposed to go.
While at the G7 Summit in Italy, Joe wandered away from a group photo op with the European leaders after some skydivers had landed. The Italian Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni had to walk over and get him back to the group. It’s unsettling to see the leader of the free world handled in this manner. During the 80th D-Day anniversary in Normandy, the Allies had to coalesce to keep Joe awake and even given that, he abruptly had to prematurely leave a presentation with his wife. This left the dignitaries and spectators wondering what is wrong with him.
Sadly, this behavior is becoming increasingly more evident in Joe’s public appearances. The latest example was at the celebrity fundraiser this past weekend in Los Angeles. After Jimmy Kimmel’s 40-minute interview of Joe and Barack Obama on stage at the Peacock Theater, a widely seen video shows Joe appear to freeze, Barack reached over and gently grabbed his wrist to direct him to the wings. Barack kept his hand on Joe’s back as they walked and disappeared behind the curtains.
At the White House’s Juneteenth celebration, Biden froze while all around him were swaying to music. That is not normal. We have no reportage that Joe has an aversion to gospel singer Kirk Franklin or his song “Love Theory”. It was George Floyd’s brother Philonise, who got him out of his minute long Sphinx-like state. The video of this is disturbing, and then he followed this up by slurring his words repeatedly when he was giving remarks at the event.
The White House press briefing has turned into a full-throated attack on the media that reports these Biden brain freezes and wandering. Karine Jean-Pierre, the Regime Press Flack, has been unrelenting in her attack on the media she deems guilty of reporting or showing the videos. According to her, the videos have been manipulated or “doctored” and print accounts are flat out lies. “The lady doth protest too much, methinks” said Hamlet’s mother in the Shakespeare classic. Certainly, that applies to Karine.
Dementia and Alzheimer’s are serious illnesses that affect many families in America. Those who have loved ones cursed with these diseases are keenly aware of the behavioral symptoms. So, for Karine to exhort us to ignore what our eyes can see is absurd. She cannot make that elephant in the room disappear. If she could, then a long-term entertainment contract on the Vegas strip awaits.
Recent actions by the regime to disguise Biden’s infirmities have included the use of the short stairs on the 747 Air Force One rather that the big roll up one that allows the President to deplane almost directly from his quarters. Not one of his handlers want to see him stumble on the big stairs like he has in the past. The short one now in regular use, requires Joe to walk the length of the aircraft to get to the lower level and then walk to the front. Same holds true for his walk across the White House lawn to board the Marine One helicopter. Biden is now surrounded by staff who shield his “old man” gait from the cameras.
The Nation has an enfeebled, old President whose primary function is to read a teleprompter at various fundraisers, telling folks that democracy is at stake. His minders want to ensure that his puppet presidency will remain in power by demonizing his principal rival, the former President. This is extremely serious because if these elite progressives stay in control they will continue to hurt everyday folks with their socialist agenda. Inflation is out of control and basic living costs, food, fuel and shelter are up nearly 20% since Joe and the gang seized power.
Now Biden is off to Camp David to prepare for his showdown June 27th with Trump. He’ll be secluded there for 7 days to prepare for a 90-minute debate. Really, he needs 7 days? Regardless of political preference, this country can ill afford to be led by a man whose mental engine is demonstrably misfiring. Biden’s continued decline allows his hidden handlers to shape his appearances to promote their progressive polices that defy the Constitution. His slide into incoherence as the leader of the free world is a real threat to global peace and prosperity.
Joe should be doing his “walkabout” on the Atlantic shores of his Rehoboth Beach home, not the White House.
