‘Tis the Season
It’s the time of year when the stores are crowded with happy shoppers looking for the perfect gifts for family and friends. Plans are made for reunions with distant relatives, accompanied with a holiday feast. All wish good will to fellow citizens and peace on earth. The focus of Americans should be this long held perception of the Season.
Instead, there’s a palpable fear in major cities across the Nation where criminals are running wild. The epidemic of smash and grab theft, coupled with thugs robbing folks on the streets and in restaurants, has put an uneasy edge on what should be a joyous time. A Christmas shopper should not have to clutch their purse or wallet while constantly watching their back.
In response to the criminal chaos in San Francisco, Mayor London Breed one of the most progressive democrat leaders in the country stated the following. “It’s time the reign of criminals who are destroying our city, it is time for it come to an end, and it comes to an end when we take the steps to more aggressive with law enforcement. More aggressive with the changes in our policies and less tolerant of all the bullshit that has destroyed our city.” Could this be the first of many epiphanies by government leaders? One can only hope that Mayor Breed follows through to restore San Francisco to its previous iconic state, as one of the Nation’s most beautiful and safe cities.
Then there’s the most recent data released by the Labor Department that the cost of consumer goods rose an average of 6.8 percent in November, a 40 year high. This increased inflation doesn’t hurt the well-off elite swells but hammers those with lower incomes who are hit harder by price increases. They must commit a bigger chunk of their wages to necessities. That translates to fewer gifts for those families to share.
Inflation is not caused by “greedy meat conglomerates” raising prices, as claimed by White House Press Secretary and Propaganda Minister Jen Psaki this week, nor is it caused by oil companies hamstrung by Joe’s war on fossil fuels. It occurs when the government pumps trillions of dollars into the economy. Too much money chasing fewer goods, the supply chain clobbered by government mismanagement. That’s economics 101. Look it up.
Fortunately, there are elected officials who recognize that runaway spending is the bane of the national economy. Senator Joe Manchin (D) of West Virginia has repeatedly stated that he was not in favor of any more reckless spending schemes by the Biden regime like “Build Back Better”. Yet another epiphany resident in a government leader. Hope he stands his ground and votes against this further descent into national economic chaos.
So, in this holiday season there is optimism that finally enough leaders are waking up to what’s important and what’s bullsh*t as Mayor Breed opined. This awaking should spread and infect Joe and his partisan zealots, giving the country a well-deserved break from their failure to maintain law and order, as well as ending their fiscal ignorance.
‘Tis the Season to be hopeful, happy and confidant that common sense will now prevail as it should.
