A Mid Term Primer

Midterm elections do more than divide power—they determine whether the country moves forward or changes course. The outcome will shape the balance of power in Congress and the policies that follow.

The November 3rd election is not simply a contest between candidates, it is a decision about the country’s direction. Voters should ask one practical question: Which set of policies will better protect my family, support my aging parents, expand opportunity for my children, and preserve my own financial security?

For voters who value Republican priorities, the stakes could hardly be higher. A Democrat majority would strengthen the party’s progressive wing and advance an agenda that Republicans believe would burden taxpayers, weaken economic growth, and reverse the country’s current course.

A shift in congressional control would not be a minor adjustment. Republicans warn that it could bring the following: Higher taxes that reduce take-home pay and leave families with less control over their own money; Weaker border enforcement; and a return to more permissive immigration policies. A broader progressive agenda that Republicans argue would expand government, discourage investment, and slow economic growth. Partisan investigations would begin and expanding efforts to obstruct President Trump and his administration.

The contrast is already visible. No House Democrat supported the provisions eliminating federal taxes on Social Security, tips and overtime in President Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill,” which passed last year. For working Americans who depend on every paycheck, that vote speaks directly to the difference between the parties’ priorities. Democrats have never met a tax they didn’t like.

Democrats have made affordability a centerpiece of their campaign, but slogans are not a substitute for results. In many Democrat-led cities and states, families face high taxes and rising everyday costs that make it harder to buy a home, raise children, save for retirement, or simply balance a household budget. The exodus from states like California, New York and Illinois is ample evidence that substantiates the effect of Democrat governance.

Government cannot tax working people more and then claim to have made their lives more affordable. Real relief means allowing families to keep more of what they earn, encouraging economic growth, and offering a credible plan to lower costs. Democrat leaders have yet to explain convincingly how their proposals would accomplish those goals.

A party that campaigns on affordability should be judged by whether its policies actually reduce the financial pressure on American families—not by how often it repeats the word. One only needs to listen to the endless baloney coming from the mouth of Michigan Senate candidate El-Sayed. A current campaign ad has claimed that American aid to Israel is one of the reasons that costs are high for consumers. Blaming the price of bananas on the Jewish state is absurd. This kind of anti-semitism is utter stupidity and amplifies his credentials as a radical Muslim. Who is Abdul El-Sayed appealing to with this commercial?

Progressive Democrats remain committed to the “Green New Deal”, the idiotic policy that has been responsible for oil refineries closing, fossil fuel power plants shutting down, and an increase in bird killing windmills. In California alone, Democrats have shut down 5 refineries in past 4 years. As of October 2026, there at 11 refineries left in a state that once had 42. California oil is shipped overseas to be refined and then returned as gasoline and diesel. Does that make any sense?

Losing Republican control of Congress could mean two years of investigations, obstruction, and legislative paralysis. The margin may be extraordinarily narrow: in 2024, ten House races were decided by roughly 6,000 votes. A small number of ballots can determine a district, and a handful of districts can determine the direction of Congress. Look at the Democrat created ballot fraud in Alaska exposed by, believe or not, The New York Times, for years the verifiable propaganda arm of the Democrat party.  The paper exposed a faux Senate candidate on the ballot, who coincidently has the same name as the Republican incumbent, just to confuse the people.

The mid term choices should be measured by outcomes: stronger household finances, secure borders, restrained taxation, affordable living, and a Congress capable of governing. Voters should examine the parties’ records, compare their proposals, and decide which approach is more likely to protect their families and strengthen the country.

All indications are unfortunately, that this election is a referendum on President Trump. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jefferies (D-NY) took time from measuring the drapes in the Speaker’s Office to produce a word salad answer to the question of solving affordability.  Never mind that he had no solution, instead he launched into the usual “Trump is the Devil” mantra that’s all too familiar.

Unfortunately, too many voters are like Lemmings going over a cliff and will vote for a “no solution” Socialist agenda. Learn the issues, plan to vote, and ensure your voice is counted.

Don’t be a Lemming.
