For a glimpse of what could lie ahead if some Americans continue embracing far-left progressive socialist propaganda, look to France. The unrest is not really about long school days, overcrowded classrooms, or poor facilities; those complaints are a cover for a movement seeking to destabilize the government and replace it with a communist-style system.
Over the weekend, roughly half a million protesters took to French streets. Police arrested 2,500 people, including nearly 1,0000 in Paris. Looting, fires, deaths, injuries, and chaos followed. A revolution.
Why? In the past decade, France has admitted at least three million asylum seekers, mostly from the Middle East and North Africa. Many quickly received welfare, housing, food, and health care. France can no longer afford these costs. Recent unrest was publicly tied to poor school conditions, but it appeared organized and aimed at Paris, Marseille, Nice and Lyon, plus other major cities.
The organizers are communists using chaos to discredit those in power. France has struggled to control the riots, and its liberal legal system is unlikely to impose meaningful consequences. These protests are not organic. Already pictures are circulating of pallets of water being left on the streets for the demonstrators. Progressive governance on steroids created the current French chaos.
Demonstrators demand higher wages and pensions, lower prices, and public services that “meet people’s needs.” They demand income equality. Capitalism cannot guarantee those outcomes because markets set wages and prices. Communism claims it can do so by controlling property and wealth, but examples such as Cuba and China show that the system fails…and the vast majority of the populace is poor.
Similar weakness is visible in Spain and England, where immigration has strained public services. Correspondingly, these problems are not evident in countries like Poland or Hungry. Early on when migration from the Middle East was building, those countries closed their borders. Denmark has recently banned the burqa, telling Muslims to adjust to the country’s rules and culture. Otherwise, they will face legal issues or be forced to leave Denmark.
Not all immigrants are dangerous or communist, and Islam and communism are ideologically incompatible. Still, Palestinian flags at the demonstrations suggest an uneasy alliance between the communist left and Islamists united by hostility toward democratic governments. A huge percentage (90% by some estimates) of the Somali immigrants in Minnesota are on the government dole. Without any marketable skills they have found it easier to accept the largess of the taxpayers rather than assimilate and pursue the American dream. They are the most susceptible to the siren song of socialism.
France’s prime minister described “a violent, far-left, highly organized network” attacking property, people, and national institutions, including centers of power in Paris. There is a strange alliance between the Islamists and Communists. He called it a political maneuver that accepts violence and said the government would not be intimidated.
That acceptance of violence is the key warning for the United States. Whatever happens in the coming midterm elections, the socialist-communist movement may be emboldened or angered. Its leaders will likely target cities where laws are weakly enforced—Portland, Seattle, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, and similar places—while avoiding cities such as New York, where police institutions remain stronger even if prosecutors decline cases.
This is a prediction: the same unrest will come here because the communist-socialist movement seeks to overthrow capitalism. That is the most important reason to vote against any candidate who advocates policies held by loons like Senator Bernie Sanders, the Godfather of the Democratic Socialist movement.
Basing your vote on the price of groceries or gasoline is foolish. Especially when the average cost of gasoline was higher when Biden was President, but the legacy media won’t report that fact. The truth is that the Democrat/Socialists haven’t offered any solutions to lowering those costs.
Even Jake Tapper of CNN admitted on air when interviewing prominent Democrats, that they had no plan to solve the perceived economic ills. Nevertheless, the Democrats are telling Americans that they will save the country from tyranny, when in fact their threats to seize the levers of capitalism are tyrannical…and they will do it either peacefully or encourage urban unrest.
The midterm vote is not about gas and groceries. It’s about protecting our culture, Constitution and foundational values from those who would radically change this Nation.
It’s not that complicated to figure out.
