Voter Apathy

The legacy media is doing the happy dance as their news readers and pundits continue to stir the mid-term election pot. Every broadcast invariably begins with encouraging news about unenthusiastic Republican voters.

Those who voted for President Trump but now feel too angry or apathetic to vote on November 3, should consider the following. They may be frustrated by gasoline prices and the cost of war, but voting for Democrats would actually make matters worse by keeping energy costs high. The Democrats are no friends of lower energy costs, especially gasoline. They have long supported phasing out gasoline-powered cars and restricting natural-gas appliances, as seen in Oakland, California. They will keep honking for “save-the-planet” green energy scams like the Mojave Ivanpah solar project that has recently come under fire due to gross waste and inefficiently.

The national average price of gasoline reached $5.02 per gallon in the spring of 2022 under President Biden, before the Iran conflict. By contrast, the Trump administration is focused on lowering energy costs by expanding supply, including pursuing a diesel agreement with Russia despite objections from Europe and Democrats. This week in Alaska, Trump also announced progress on the proposed 800-mile Alaska LNG pipeline, describing it as the largest energy infrastructure project in the state’s history.

He said, “We got it done. I’m pleased to report that you have every necessary federal permit. You can start tonight.”

Trump’s approach emphasizes expanding opportunity and energy supply. Democrats in Congress, by contrast, would block oil-and-gas infrastructure projects, leaving consumers to bear higher costs. If you are frustrated by the uncertainty surrounding the Iran conflict, remember that Trump says he intends to end it quickly. On the other hand, the Democrats have no positive message. Their message is anti-Trump on everything his Administration proposes.

Democrats are not convincingly anti-war. The war in Ukraine began during the Biden Administration and has continued for nearly five years, costing the United States almost $200 billion by some estimates from earlier this year. Democratic leaders largely support continuing that commitment. Their tax-and-spend policies would weaken the country, while closer ties to Europe could increase the risk of involvement in another unnecessary war. Democrats do not believe in peace through strength; they offer chaos through weakness.

The Democrats have lost their collective minds. There's no doubt about it. Look at some of the Senatorial candidates they have put up for consideration. A faux native American in Minnesota who claims her Indian name means “speaks in a loud and clear voice woman”, an antisemitic fellow in Michigan whose sister praises the radical Muslim Brotherhood, thinks Israel is an American enemy and a dude in Texas, who went MIA from his campaign for10 days and doesn’t’ know the Bible from a boxcar.  All radical Socialists. Is it worth voting for candidates that want America as we know it to evaporate? To see socialism take root? Because that's what you're getting if you vote Democrat. That's a fact.

Voting Democrat—or staying home—may seem like a way to punish Trump politically, but the consequences would fall on ordinary Americans. Democrats may not be able to eliminate conservatives, but they can make their lives harder through higher taxes, public shaming, and greater restrictions.

Advancing the current Democrat agenda could require expanding the Supreme Court. In the Georgia Senatorial debate this week, Senator Jon Ossoff suggested he was open to the idea. Asked whether he would add justices to alter the Court’s ideological balance, he replied, “I don’t rule out any judicial reform.” With a larger Court and a Democrat controlled Senate, policies now considered unconstitutional could suddenly survive legal challenge.

That could open the door to European-style limits on speech in the name of combating misinformation and disinformation. Such policies can chill online expression, as seen in the United Kingdom, where teenagers have faced scrutiny over social-media posts, and in Canada, where community-policing approaches can severely affect those who resist prevailing views.

A newly aligned Court could also weaken Second Amendment protections through broader red-flag laws, potentially treating traditional Christian beliefs as grounds for denying gun ownership. It could restrict traditional Americans from leadership roles at public universities, in law enforcement, and in the military. We saw similar exclusionary impulses after January 6.

Financial access could also become a political weapon. Big technology companies may appear friendly to Trump today, but they could reverse course. Before Elon Musk bought Twitter, the platform banned Trump after the 2020 election, while opposing viewpoints were sometimes suppressed on social media. Facebook, Google, and other companies developed systems for receiving government moderation requests and identifying people whose views, associations, or sympathies were labeled misinformation or disinformation. Creating such lists amounts to digital McCarthyism.

The progressive media’s goal is to make those apathetic voters feel afraid, ashamed, and silent. No reportage about anything positive regarding current economic growth. Wouldn’t it be great if they spent the same amount of time exposing the Socialist frauds as they do rummaging for dirt on Presidential Aide Natalie Harp or new Press Secretary Katie Zacharia.

Let us hope that common sense is not on a holiday, and the American people are wiser than current polls suggest.
