America Alone

Wednesday night, President Trump’s speech was to reassure Americans that the conflict with Iran is nearing its conclusion. The President faced a largely cynical and intolerant audience, many of whom have doubts about the reasons for Operation Epic Fury. Public opinion may be more influenced by rising gas prices than by actual events in the Middle East.

This loss of confidence is a direct result of the legacy media’s misrepresentation of the facts regarding “why” the action was taken against the fanatical Mullahs.  That is what is impacting public opinion across America.  A recent CBS News poll suggests most adults believe that our action against this Iranian military is failing. Were those polled listening to the nonstop drumbeat of the TDS pundits who inhabit CNN? Their perceptions are completely disconnected from reality of the cold, hard truth. Iran’s leadership has suffered huge losses. It appears that the third or fourth tier of the government is in charge.  Iran’s military capabilities have been significantly reduced. Over 11,000 targets have been leveled with more to come.

Recent developments that indicated Iran has accumulated enough enriched uranium to build a nuclear weapon was the genesis of Operation Epic Fury. Hard evidence is that they had stockpiled 60% enriched uranium. In fact that was confirmed by their own negotiators while in talks with United States’ envoys. There is no legitimate civilian or peaceful purpose for enrichment levels to be above 5%. That raised serious concerns about Iran’s intentions.

The true state of Iran’s nuclear program was hidden and uninspected by international monitors. Without visible evidence, many Europeans were reluctant to accept the risk of taking the Ayatollah and his gang out, with many unwilling to support action against Iran. Even though the regime’s brutality is clear, economic concerns often outweighed moral outrage over distant violence. Europe’s economy was at risk due to Iran’s capacity to disrupt oil flows which would lead to price increases and shortages.

The European continent was exposed to Iranian ballistic missiles, and years of underinvestment in defense have left Europe unable to protect itself without U.S. support. For example, Britain’s difficulty in deploying a Navy destroyer to the Mediterranean underscores the broader issue of Europe’s prioritization of social welfare over self-defense. This situation has become a national embarrassment to that nation and others, symbolizing the consequences of bad policy choices.

Within conservative circles, there is a quiet movement advocating for the United States to withdraw from NATO. This sentiment stems from the perception that European allies are not sufficiently proactive in confronting global threats and evil. President Trump’s insistence that NATO members fulfill their financial commitments has made him unpopular among alliance leaders. Despite these demands, countries like Spain remain significantly behind in meeting their obligations.

An overlooked reality is the strengthening alliance between Russia and Iran, forming an axis against Western interests. Both nations are sharing weapons, including drones and missiles. Russia is supplying Iran with intelligence on American military movement in the Middle East, providing them with target information. Giving Putin any advantage is not a good idea.

Historical parallels can be drawn to the late 1930s, when many Americans did not believe Germany’s genocidal intentions despite clear warnings. There existed a similar reluctance to confront Iran’s murderous regime even though evidence of their slaughter of over 35,000 citizens during January protests was abundant.

Despite skepticism, President Trump’s speech regarding the Iranian threat was effective and persuasive. It may grant him the time needed to pursue the mission objectives.  He needs to deliver the policy message consistently to domestic and international audiences.

The lessons of the October 7 attacks on innocent Israeli youth and Nevill Chamberlain’s 1938 cowardice when faced with German aggression remain relevant. Iran’s aggressive actions for the last 47 years have long signaled inevitable conflict. Wishful thinking or diplomacy proved to be not a viable strategy to avert their goal of a global caliphate and the destruction of Western civilization.

President Trump’s decisive response has secured his place in history, contrasting sharply with the perceived incompetence and cowardice of many contemporary leaders.

Imagine if America had turned away from global conflict in World War II, if the isolationists had prevailed, the results would have been grim.

A clear reminder that courage and action is essential, even if you are alone, when evil creates a crisis.
