Climate Crazed
The invasion of Taiwan by Nancy Pelosi and the death of the greatest sports broadcaster in history, Vin Scully, has pushed the climate change hysteria temporarily off the collective media’s front page. Welcome relief from the never ending “Chicken Little” mantra that the end of the planet is near.
Ever notice that when the weather dude gives the forecast of the expected high temperature, they also include the historical temperature on the same date. The other day one said that in 1939 the high was 109 degrees on this date, 24 degrees higher than the current forecast. If you researched the local newspaper, there wasn’t one reference to “Global Warming”.
The “Dustbowl” of the 1930’s was never attributed to climate change but provided John Steinbeck material for his novel, “The Grapes of Wrath”. The Joad family fled the severe drought conditions of the Oklahoma for California. While their lot did not vastly improve in the Golden State, at no time did Steinbeck blame their fate on global warming. Nevertheless it’s certain that Al Gore and Greta Thunberg would have a different take and be less than pleased with the root cause of the Joad family’s migration, documented by Steinbeck.
Planet Earth is estimated to be 4.6 billion years old. Mother Earth has had a variety of climates from ice ages to thick jungles coverage over time. Scientists study the soil layers and can draw a lot of data from them. One thing is known, the last ice age ended when the planet warmed up and yet this happened when there were no cars, coal fired power plants or cow flatulence to accelerate the process.
Now the drumbeat of dialog on warming has found its way into the latest spending bill from the Biden Regime (Inflation Reduction Act of 2022), as championed by Chuck Schumer and the other Joe, Manchin. This pork ladened mishmash of increased taxes and spending includes 369 billion dollars for the war on climate change and doesn’t reduce inflation. More importantly, it makes no sense to increase spending during a recession, according to statements attributed to noted economists Obama and Clinton, it acerbates inflation according to them. A classic legislative oxymoron authored by progressive Senate flacks and endorsed by the befuddled one.
Over the years the charge capacity of an electric car diminishes and that’s when the owners find themselves in a Twilight Zone of reduced remaining range as their batteries lose their effectiveness. Yet the Schumer-Manchin bill will provide subsidies for electric cars as the nation acquiesces to the green grifters pushing the transition “renewable” energy sources like solar and wind. No one writes about the massive carbon footprint created in the manufacture of the electric cars or renewable energy sources, its far greater than will ever be reported. Consider the following.
It’s summer, you're traveling to Las Vegas in your electric car through the Mojave Desert, a desert void not only of sight and sound but charging stations. A journey with eyes glued to the charge level of your batteries, realizing that your limited range is not imagined. You see a signpost up ahead - your next stop, the Baker Charging Station! Whew! Nothing like a charging the car in 110-degree heat. The future, if Chuck and the Joes have their way.
The green grifters are skilled propogandists who could talk a dog off a meat wagon. They would have the folks believe that ownership of a non-fossil fuel vehicle is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Even the Word Salad Queen weighed in and blamed the tragic floods in Kentucky on climate change. Come on Kamala, stop with the never let a flood go unblamed.
No amount of alternate news stories will deter the zealots who refuse to recognize the potential of clean fossil fuel energy or nuclear power generation. They will remain steadfast in their mission to remake society as they see fit. Climate change has nothing to do with the climate, it is all about controlling how the folks will live their lives. What kind of car you drive, when you can turn your lights or air conditioning on or if you can have a gas range in your kitchen. This minority of loons know as much about environmental science as a pig knows about Sunday.
Since there is no funding for sea walls in the latest bill, the Nation can rest assured the Biden’s seaside retreat is not threatened by rising sea levels nor is the Obama, Gore, or any Southampton Swell’s oceanfront residences in danger from rising sea levels. So what is the real threat…if any?
It’s our politicians who are worrisome.
