Over the weekend the Ayatollah Khamenei and his remaining pals discovered the meaning of this popular acronym. In polite company it means, “Fool Around, Find Out”. However, the Iranian Mullahs are not polite company so the military context, substituting a different “F” word was applicable. It's a blunt warning for those who engage in reckless behavior, that they will face serious consequences from the United States military. 

Four previous American Presidents have warned the Iranians about their “peaceful nuclear program” beginning with Bill Clinton in 1995: "We are determined to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons." Then George W. Bush issued this warning in 2006: "Iran must not be allowed to develop nuclear weapons. Period." Barack Obama opined in 2015: "I have stated that Iran will never be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon." Then in 2022 Joe Biden read this statement off his teleprompter: "We will not allow Iran to acquire a nuclear weapon."

Over the past weekend, Donald J. Trump posted on social media: "Iran's key nuclear enrichment facilities have been completely and totally obliterated.... Thank you for your attention to this matter." Trump proved that talk is cheap but money buys land. He gave them ample time to sign an agreement.  They didn’t so he solved the problem.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Sunday why it’s a mistake to not take President Trump at his word: "They tried to play him along the way they've played every American President for the last 35 years. The President told them if we don't get a deal, which is what we wanted, then I'll have to handle it differently. And that's what he did last night. He handled it differently. Remember that was the Iranian leadership’s choice. We didn't make that choice. They did by playing games with Donald Trump.”

Yet even in this Nation there are those who are less than pleased with the action the United States took against the Iranian’s “peaceful nuclear program”.

On March 8, 2011, when Nancy Pelosi was Minority Leader in the House, she posted the following on Twitter when Obama bombed Libya: “I commend POTUS for his leadership -Qaddafi’s horrific brutality against his own people will not be tolerated & must stop. #Libya”

She also said: “The White House violated neither the Constitution nor the War Powers Resolution when it launched military operations in the war-torn African nation in March without Congress’s endorsement.”

However, Speaker Emeritus Pelosi changed her tune when President Trump acted against the Iranian’s nuclear weapon ambitions. She criticized the attack, saying that it was performed without Congressional approval and endangers American lives and issued the following statement.

“Tonight, the president ignored the Constitution by unilaterally engaging our military without Congressional authorization, I join my colleagues in demanding answers from the administration on this operation which endangers American lives and risks further escalation and dangerous destabilization of the region.” 

Pure hypocrisy.

All the major Democrat Trump haters joined the Pelosi response and issued assorted condemnations and calls for his impeachment.  Notable posts came from Senator Chuck “U” Schumer, former Iran hawk, feckless House Minority Leader Hakeem Jefferies and of course the vapid Congresswoman Sandy Cortez (AOC), all stating that Trump had violated the Constitution.   

A reminder, when Obama acted, crickets could only be heard from the anvil chorus that is the progressive Democrat party. Their professional activist pals we have seen in the streets lately, who march against everything, were scurrying to find Iranian flags to wave in protest after ditching their Mexican and Palestinian flags.  

For all the doubting Thomas’s, the old expression, “the proof is in the pudding” holds true. President Trump’s strategy worked, and today he announced that Israel and Iran had agreed to a cease fire. This comes after Iran discovered that their fruitless missile attack on the large American airbase in Qatar failed miserably. Put a fork in them, they’re done.
