Fill’er Up

Long time ago, before there were self-service gas stations, folks would pull into the corner gas station and say, “Fill’er up”. While the tank was filling, an attendant would wash the windshield and check the oil. They probably got a set of glasses for their patronage.  No one thought about where the gas came from or the cost.  Not so much anymore.

Thanks to the executive orders signed by a befuddled tool of the tree hugging, climate change zealots, the American oil industry was effectively throttled in January of 2021. Joe Biden did that, a colossal screw up on his first day in office.  The attack on the American oil and fossil fuel companies has driven energy prices to record highs.  Now his regime would have us believe that this is the result of Putin’s invasion of Ukraine. One of the latest moronic statements from the regime was, "The reason why the price of gas is going up is not because of steps the President has taken, they are because Putin is invading Ukraine." That line of hooey was put out by the Minister of Propaganda, White House Press Secretary, Jen “Pinocchio” Psaki and ranks as the largest load of bullschiff ever delivered in the White House briefing room. She wouldn't know the truth if it walked in wearing a name badge.

There were record gas prices well before Putin decided to massacre the Ukrainians.  An inconvenient truth as Al Gore would say. Gas prices rose $1.14 a gallon from Biden's inauguration to the day Putin invaded. Tuesday Joe banned the importation of Russian oil and blathered on about the 9000 domestic permits/leases that oil companies currently had but said absolutely nothing about reversing the heinous regulations he signed that keep them idle. Biden even read that we are producing more energy than ever.  Wrong Joe. In December 2020 the United States was producing 12.9 million barrels a day. Exactly one year later, December of 2021, the number was 11.5 million barrels a day. Go figure that one out.

We have the largest and most spectacular oil and gas reserves in the world. If Alaska were untapped, the state could supply up to 40% of the world's oil needs. But our “friends” in the environmental movement would stifle that development in the name of climate change and Joe accommodated them last January.  There is not a chance that alternative energy can fuel this country. They want us all to drive electric cars and power our homes with renewables like wind and solar. The Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg says you don’t have to worry about gas prices if you buy an electric vehicle. Someone should remind the former South Bend mayor how out of lunch he sounds. In his speech banning Russian oil imports that increasing domestic production in the United States will not help but buying electric cars will. Biden said, “This is the goal we should be racing to.” Talk about out of touch. The cold hard facts are that won’t work. The average cost of an electric car is $56,000 according to Kelly Blue Book. That cost is not in the average American’s budget.

Do these climate change loons have any idea how much it will cost to grow those alternative fuel resources? Do they really think that they are saving the environment and preventing global warming by hamstringing the use American fossil energy resources? Even Elon Musk opined, “Hate to say it, but we need to increase oil and gas output immediately. Extraordinary times demand extraordinary measures.” Perhaps they have no idea where the power comes from to charge an electric vehicle. Elon knows. The Chinese just signed an agreement to buy 100 million tons of coal from Russia. They don’t plan on storing it. Nope they’ll use it to fuel the power plants they build at the rate of one a month. The Chinese are not known for building clean coal fired plants. They don’t give a hoot about pollution or climate change.

Now the world will watch as the Biden regime goes around the planet on bended knee, begging and pleading with foreign nations for energy.  These incompetents are catering to dictators in Venezuela and Iran, attempting to negotiate oil sales to the United States. Joe will be to toadying to the Saudis, who he estranged early on in his regime, to send us more oil. Reports are that his calls weren’t accepted. Didn’t Biden tell us in his State of the Union address that he wanted us to buy American? His current search for more oil is, without a doubt, pathetic and pitiful given our known national reserves.

Food prices in America are up 21% year to year because as the cost of fuel goes up, transportation costs go up, which make food prices accelerate. Americans are getting nailed by the unbelievably dumb policies of the out of touch elites Joe has surrounded himself with. The Nation will never understand why Joe Biden won’t allow American workers to supply our energy and instead allowing the Venezuelans, Saudis, and Iranians to do it.

The facts are when Donald Trump left office, a gallon of gas cost $2.40 on average. One week before Putin invaded Ukraine, gas prices had risen to $3.54 a gallon in 13 months under Biden. Today the national average is a record $4.17 and over $5.25 in California. Are you better off now than you were 14 months ago?

In the leadership tool shed, the cold hard facts are that Joe Biden is not the sharpest one. For nearly 50 years the words “Biden” and “leadership” have never been use in the same sentence. But he is still a world class buck passer. Responding to a shouted press pool question in Houston about gas prices, he replied, "It’s going to go up. Can’t do much right now. Russia is responsible."

When it comes to the national gas tank there’s no chance that Joe knows how to “Fill’er up”.
