Going Broke and The Green New Deal
One of the greatest threats Americans are facing is “Climate change or Global warming”. Yup, that’s what the current Regime would have you believe. Because unless you live at least 500 feet above sea level, you are doomed to slowly drown as the oceans rise and salt water engulfs your home. Seriously. There are folks on the planet, in the swamp, who believe this bologna. The promoters of the “Green New Deal”.
The climate clown show populates every governmental department in the current Regime. Through public pronouncements, the drum beat of global warming hysteria is heard every day. Buy an electric car. Get solar panels for your home. Turn off your air conditioning. Turn off your lights. The Regime’s “Greenies” always issuing gloomy forecasts. These loons make Chicken Little look like an optimist.
A reality check. The average cost of an electric car is over $50,000. A solar system for the average home, that will run more than the refrigerator, will set a family back at least $40,000, batteries not included. Since solar is only effective during sunlight, the power generated must be stored. The panels are the only option as most homeowners don’t have room for a windmill. Making Americans broke again. Besides Windmills kill a lot of birds. Look it up.
The Texas power grid, because of government incentives started during the Obama reign, has switched to a greater dependence on wind to generate electric power. On Monday, because of a heat wave, the grid operator asked Texans to turn off their air conditioners and other appliances, to avoid blackouts. The state that has the richest deposits of gas and oil in the Nation, who shuttered its natural gas and oil-fired power plants in the name of climate change, is now power deficient. Brilliant.
The cost of electricity is increasing every month as cheap energy sources are abandoned due to the lemming like march to “green” energy sources. Never mind that Europe is restarting its coal fired plants and holding off on closing nuclear powered generation, as Russia chokes the gas and oil supply to NATO nations. China is building coal fired electrical plants at a rapid pace. 43 were started in 2021. Joe’s Chinese pals are obviously deeply concerned about climate change.
The 18-month war on fossil fuel in the United States hasn’t done anyone any favors. The ripple effect has been devastating to the economy. Look no further than the cost of gasoline and food. Then there’s the real environmental effect of all this “green” lunacy. The ingredients needed to produce the electric car batteries and solar panels are largely rare earth elements and not found in abundance in America. Seems that China has deposits, and they mine those rare earth minerals without regard to polluting the land or the waterways. Fact. No EPA there. Windmill parts are made…not in America…but in China and Europe. What a great idea, let’s transition to energy sources that aren’t reliable 24 hours a day and create no jobs here.
When no longer useful, the batteries, solar panels and windmill blades sit in dumps. The toxic metals they contain can trickle out into the environment and pose a public health hazard if they enter the groundwater supply. Windmill blades can’t easily be crushed, recycled, or repurposed. Currently they end up in a handful of landfills that accept them in Iowa and Wyoming, 30 feet underground. In California, solar panels must be disposed of as hazardous waste. Then there’s the huge used batteries, the ones found in Elon’s Tesla, weigh 900 pounds. Eventually those batteries, along with the toxic chemicals that can leach out of them, could also end up in hazardous waste landfills or enter the ground water supply as well.
Experts say there are ways to recycle them. Unfortunately, the expensive technology to do this has not been implemented on a large scale. Their chemical components make it difficult to separate the elements contained in them when they are no longer useful. Haven’t heard the “Greenies” wailing about this failure to recycle.
So who’s going broke while going green. It’s not the “swells” living in their oceanfront mansions on Martha’s Vineyard or Malibu. No reports of them building sea walls to hold back the rising oceans. Not the Chinese whose factories and power plants belch toxic waste into the air, manufacturing everything found in Target or Walmart.
Joe Sixpack is bearing the burden of this Green New Deal nonsense, paying more for fuel and food in a Nation that has enormous, provable clean fossil fuel reserves, unexploited. The other Joe is oblivious to this and continues to read whatever the “Greenies” decide to put on the prompter. It’s either Putin’s price hike or Putin’s energy crisis, that’s the problem, according to Biden.
The real problem is clear to the folks. They’re not buying the Regime’s bologna and will send that message in November.
