Perception vs. Reality

If you were paying attention this week, you probably read or heard that a bunch of Congressional Representatives got arrested at a Supreme Court abortion rights protest. Notably, Sandy Cortez, aka AOC, the former Bronx bartender and House of Representatives diva was taken into custody. She failed to disperse from the Court grounds after three warnings.

What’s significant about this event were the photos and video put out in the mainstream media.  Note in today’s blog picture, the first photo.  Sandy is being escorted by an officer appearing to be handcuffed.  However, the rear-view picture, (she sensitive about that as we have learned, after she was catcalled on the Capital steps by a rude loon) shows that she simply has her hands behind her back…faking being handcuffed. Most of the media showed the first picture.

Here’s the problem.  That image lends credence to the left’s narrative that the police overreact and are not sympathetic to the issues of the day. So for the millennial consumers of all media, including social, Sandy looks like a victim and heroine at the same time. Her street cred among this voter block increases, as most are too lazy to look beyond the spoon-fed propaganda inherit in today’s media.

A lot of false perceptions and not much reality in all media channels, social, print, and broadcast. There’s more, a lot more. Here’s a few.

There’s growing hysteria about global warming, now fueled by the heat wave gripping the Nation. The perception is that unless we listen to the green grifters pushing this narrative and build more windmills and deploy more solar panels, we are doomed.  Reality check – the windmills aren’t turning in the heat and the solar panels aren’t sufficient to cover the power deficit. Texas power authorities requested that no one charge their electric cars during peak usage hours.

Fossil fuel pollution produced by the United States is not solely responsible for the alleged global warming. China and India, far and away, lead the world in pollution. Their coal fired power plants spew tons of unscrubbed pollutants into the atmosphere and they are building more. See any reporting about either country’s EPA cracking down on this? Good luck finding that news.

French President Macron has announced that his country will be building 8 more nuclear power plants.  France already generates over 70% power using this provable source. Clean energy. That’s a reality check, negating the need for Russian natural gas or oil. How many new nuclear plants are being built in North America? How about zero, zip, nada.

According to Secretary of Transportation, Pete Buttigieg, if everyone had an electric vehicle, it would make a massive difference in the battle against climate change. Unfortunately that scenario isn’t close to reality. No one is reporting the massive carbon footprint that is results when the elements needed are mined to produce the lithium batteries.

To make them, lithium metal oxides are the key ingredients. That metal is usually a mix of nickel, cobalt, aluminum, and manganese. Cobalt is a rare earth element. Think of the fossil fuel that is used extract and process these minerals from mother earth. Mayor Pete hasn’t. Nor has he heard of nuclear energy evidently.

“You’re not going to — you’re not going to get covid- if you have these vaccinations.” Joe Biden made that sagacious statement, July 2021. That was his perception, and it was heartily endorsed by his media sycophants at the time.

Another reality check, the twice vaccinated and twice boosted President, was diagnosed with the China flu (covid-19) this week.  He is currently self-isolating in the White House, stuck in DC for the weekend…safe from the rising oceans at his Delaware beach house.

To arrive at reality, it’s a good idea to examine all the facts, do the research.  Never rely on what any media source or politician state when they proclaim their perceptions are fact.
