The mid-term elections have concluded, but their political consequences are still unfolding. Baseball icon Yogi Berra’s phrase, “It ain’t over till it’s over,” coined while he managed the New York Mets, captures that distinction. So does the familiar saying, “It ain’t over till the fat lady sings.” But those phrases should not remind us that the election night results are the end of this year’s midterm story.
The legacy media could barely contain their glee that the Progressive, Democrat Socialists, Marxists had seized control of the House of Representatives and the Senate. It was a mass extinction event for the Republicans, a thundering repudiation of President Trump based on the affordability issue, the Iran war, and the constant drumbeat of TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome) served by that media. Primarily, the war with Iran drove oil prices up, consumers didn’t want to endure the short-term pain.
In every legacy media control room and Democrat watch party, they cued up Martha and the Vandella’s classic, “Dancing in the Street”. Meanwhile the Fat Lady was serenading the President with “Turn out the Lights, the Party’s Over” from the new White House helipad.
It didn’t help that the President, for the last 30 days, was traveling like an Old West medicine man in a horse drawn wagon selling his brand of elixir. The folks had clearly grown weary of his schtick. If Trump were a contestant on The Apprentice, he’d have heard, “You’re fired!”. Rather that talk about the Border, the Ballroom and the 2020 Election, he would have been well served to talk about how he’s going to raise hell with the Oil companies who are making record profits. He misread voter priorities? Bigly. Harsh? Yes, but true.
Curiously, there is still no plan by the winners to solve any issues. This election was personality driven, with the media, social and legacy, dishing up a daily dose of “Trump is the Devil”. Clear thinking and logic were on vacation. It’s hard to comprehend how misinformed, brainwashed, and willfully ignorant the average voter is regarding the real Democrat agenda.Wall Street knows. The market took a massive hit when the Dems animus over data centers artificial intelligence, and the tech sector of the national economy was revealed.
Folks totally forgot that gas was more costly and inflation hit record highs when the barely awake Joe Biden was at the helm. They did not recall the Nation was being invaded by a third world horde of unskilled, poor illegals, here only for whatever they could get for free. We live in a Nation of long-term memory loss sufferers.
It is a disgrace that the legacy media encourages the Democrats to ride in the back seat of their clown car, disguised as an honest reporting vehicle. Their failure to inform the country about verifiable fiscal facts is criminal: a booming economy with gross domestic product at a new high, consumer spending is up, worker wages are up, national employment is at an unprecedented level. Apparently, an underinformed electorate was unable to cut through the ample serving of propaganda to the contrary and chose to focus on the war with Iran and gas prices, two short term, solvable problems.
As a result, the people have elected some far-left candidates with, at the least, dubious backgrounds. They believe that these politicians will make their lives better.
Leading the pack is the Senator-elect Abdul El-Sayed from Michigan, despite his ties to terrorist aligned groups, he’s a radical, a misogynist, and provable antisemite. A real weasel, he gave one of the most ungracious acceptance speeches in recent memory, repeatedly throwing the President, the Vice President and his opponent Mike Rogers under the bus. Arrogance, not humility was in full bloom. He won because his brand of elixir was Medicare for all, lower grocery and gas prices, and protecting illegals from expulsion. Then on his The View appearance he talked about how he was going to lead the charge to “get” Trump and cut off aid to Israel. How will that help the consumers?
In Texas, James Talerico, a believer that there are six genders, won a Senate seat because the Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton, endorsed by Trump, was a dismal excuse for a vibrant candidate. He campaigned like the ultimate political hack and even 500 million dollars of ads couldn’t make this sow’s ear a silk purse.
New York re-elected the Nation’s worst governor, Kathy Hochal, who will spend most of her time paying fealty to Mayor Zohran Mamdani, as the state will continue to sink into a financial abyss. She will not speak out against the radical Congresswoman- elect Darializa Avila Chevalier who is a proven hater of Israel and Jews, coming to the new Congress…bet on it.
Instead, the folks will get a vendetta like Congressman Robert Garcia (D-CA), the incoming chairman of the House Oversight Committee has proposed. He advised members of the Trump Administration to “Lawyer Up”. That’ll bring down gas prices. What Garcia and his ilk don’t get is that the folks didn’t vote for investigations and revenge. What a clueless troglodyte.
Here’s the cold hard facts, like them or not. Trump will be the President for the next two years and a Democrat House has no powers to prosecute, only investigate. Any vote to impeach him will be a fool’s errand and will not lead to a conviction or his expulsion from office. There will be resolution of the Iran War and gas prices will drop like a stone. Trump will veto tax and spending legislation that is detrimental to the country and his veto won’t be over ridden.
The economy is already growing and will for the next two years, the economy will continue to run like a well-oiled machine. “Affordability” will resolve itself in a free market economy. That will leave the Democrats with no cogent argument for the voters except “Trump is the Devil” and “Tax the Rich” or we investigated everyone in the Trump Administration. That is not a winning recipe for a Democrat in the 2028 Presidential election.
Remember the Democrats opposed no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, and no tax on Social Security. It will be impossible for them take credit for the Trump/Republican economy. The Republican 2028 Presidential nominee—either Vance or Rubio or DeSantis will have a strong argument about the economy and “affordability”.
Fasten your seatbelts, it’s going to be a bumpy ride for the next two years as the Democrats fill the air with rancor, nastiness and infighting while the Nation continues to prosper in spite of it all.
It’s true that "It ain't over till it's over”.
