It’s a Mad, Mad, Utterly Mad World
Lately, cultural and political madness has reared its head to levels unseen in the American experience. The wokeness factor is approaching degrees of stupidity that defy imagination. Being woke is the intellectual result of playing Frisbee in the Quad during history class. The offended, snowflake, politically correct among us are hell-bent on changing the world to fit their narrow view of what’s right and wrong. These friable boobs need to be stopped in their tracks before they impose versions of historical perspective that are complete fantasy.
The cancel culturing loons have so far nailed Pepe Le Pew, Speedy Gonzalez, Peter Pan and Dr. Suess on the cross of incorrectness. These clowns want to turn Mr. Potato Head into something twice baked at Morton’s. But unbelievably, none of these cultural warriors went off over Sunday night’s Grammy Awards performance by Cardi B on a stripper pole doing a rap song about her genitalia. The ensuing silence from these minders has been deafening. Perhaps 30 or 40 years from now, a couple of millennials will look lovingly into their partner’s eyes and say, “Honey, that’s our song”. Sure they will.
Columbia University is planning separated graduation ceremonies for assorted ethnic, gender, economic and racial groups. What kind of woke balkanization is this? At last count the University will be holding at least six different rituals for the diverse graduates. Naturally, nonsense such as this serves to unify. Hardly.
A high school in New Jersey cancelled a planned production of “South Pacific” because there may be characters who could be offensive to some groups or ethnic backgrounds. Pretty sure that Rogers and Hammerstein intended their 1949 musical to cause heartache to some woke idiot in 2021. Perhaps the musical, “Cats” is next because it’s offensive to dog owners. You can’t make this nonsense up.
Look no further than the southern border of the Nation for political madness. Everyone knows that this is a country of immigrants from many countries. Legal immigrants. The recission of the Trump Administration border policies and stopping the wall construction by Biden regime is an unmitigated disaster. The President’s flacks deny that there is a crisis despite the flood of smuggled children now held in camps. In addition, adults are sneaking in through unfinished gaps in the border wall knowing that the largess of The Joe will await them. A country recovering from the China Flu, with millions still unemployed doesn’t need an influx of unskilled, unvaccinated freeloaders. A harsh assessment but a realistic one, since there are legitimate folks who have applied to immigrate to the United States and are patiently waiting their turn.
55 days into the new White House Resident’s Administration, gasoline prices are up considerably, with a predicted price in some states at $5.00 a gallon on the horizon. The madness of ending pipeline construction, and cutting back on exploration through executive orders, by Biden should be brutally evident to non-Tesla owners. The “alleged man of the people”, Joe Biden doesn’t have a clue what a hardship this increased cost is on the working class. Not surprising since he hasn’t been a member of the working class for over 50 years…if ever.
The “Me Too” madness that reached hysterical levels during the confirmation hearings for now Justice Brett Kavanagh, was missing in action until the revelations about “Randy Andy” Cuomo’s nefarious activities. It took a while, seven female employees of the New York Governor coming forward, for outrage to be heard from a limited number of the most vociferous voices who screeched about Kavanaugh. However, still no comments from the loudest of the bunch, Vice President Kamala Harris.
And then there’s the latest madness coming from the Regime, a federal tax increase. Who does that help? Proposals to increase corporate taxes only increases product costs to citizens. No corporation on the planet is going to eat a tax increase as a public service to consumers. What are these elitists in the administration thinking? Those who propose this insanity, must have missed their Econ classes because they joined the Frisbee players in the Quad.
We have had enough madness lately – how about a dose of commons sense from Senator John Kennedy of Louisiana who said, “I’m not interested in more political or cultural combat.”
