One Year In

We are now once year into the national pandemic shut down.  Time to assess where the nation is, and what the future holds.  As the misery of shutdown continues for Americans in some states, what has been learned from this long national nightmare?

Today, United States is 50 plus days into the Biden Administration, a regime that is continuing the “panic in the barnyard” scenario initiated by career government bureaucrats, notably lead by Doctor Anthony Fauci. As we have learned after a year’s exposure to this quack, Fauci spews more baloney than a carnival barker.  No mask needed. Must wear a mask. Wear two masks. Don’t social distance. Maintain six feet of separation. Stay in your home, don’t venture out. This is just some of the blather that the Nation has endured from this grandstanding loon. Sadly, he’s not finished opining.

President Biden savaged former President Trump as being responsible for the thousands of deaths during the campaign, part of a calculated effort to win the election.  Obviously, it worked. Never mind how repugnant and outright dishonest this tactic was, it continues today even though over 100,000 deaths have occurred since his inauguration. Then Biden claimed there was no vaccine when he took office, despite ample evidence that he had his second shot of Pfizer several days before his immaculation. Not even a modicum of credit will ever be forthcoming from Biden for the initiatives that got Joe his vaccine.

The difference between Red and Blue states has become abundantly clear.  While Florida and California have relatively the same statistical data with respect to proportional deaths and infection rates; Florida, led by a commonsense governor is rocking and rolling.  Tragically, California is led by a hypocrite rivaling New York’s Cuomo…absence the degenerate behavior. The states run by Democrats have sought to put restrictions on virtually all aspects of their citizens lives to this day.  Naturally, in the beginning all states complied using the 1918 model of the Spanish Flu when attempting to control the China Flu, initiating masks and social distancing advocated by Fauci and the gang.

While President Trump was in office, the nastiness between him and blue state governors, Cuomo, Whitmer, Newsome, Pritzker and Inslee was palatable. The mainstream media was only too happy to join the Trump pile-on, while the Republican governors who came to their senses were vilified as Merchants of Death. These enlightened leaders listened to statistics that bore out the notion there was no significant danger to the population when the idiotic lockdowns were lifted.  Dining out has been demonstrably proven to be as safe as hanging out in a crowded Costco. Sadly, Biden has labeled these leaders as “Neanderthal” for listening to experts other than the pandemic oracle Fauci.

Like the Hatfields and the McCoys, the feud between the major parties remains the starkest reminder of the heightened tribalism driven by the left leaning media. This continuing war does nothing to solve the suffering of the country.  Biden’s massive “Covid Relief Bill” does little to salve the suffering of the last year. The schools are still shuttered in blue states, many businesses are closed or bankrupt.  Look no further than Manhattan if you want to view a modern-day ghost town.  That scene is replicated in many blue state urbans centers.  The Democrats love the control, but can’t figure out how to unwind the mess they’ve created.

The future shouldn’t be as grim as what Biden reads on a teleprompter. The continued narrative of a health and economic catastrophe is fiction in the finest tradition of the cancel culture lunacy that has sprung from the riots and shutdowns of the last year. The real offense are the leaders who continue to peddle panic when there’s an abundance of logic to counter the nonsense…especially when three vaccines are available.

Normalcy will be achieved when we pay attention to political leaders like Florida Governor DeSantis or Texas Governor Abbott, and doctors like Scott Atlas of Stanford. These men are clear thinkers who put the folks first, not some agenda that constantly shifts to fit the ego driven politicians and doctors beloved by the media.

In his first national address last night, President Biden should have credited President Trump for his push to develop a Covid vaccine in warp speed time. He did mention how great the vaccine is but couldn’t utter compliment. Because he’s a prisoner of the looney left, there will never be a scintilla of magnanimity forthcoming for any positive policy Trump initiated that was good for the Nation.

Instead, listening to what Biden carefully read, one would think that he and he alone, was responsible for delivering us from the pandemic so we could barbeque on the 4th of July with family and friends.

That’s the same kind of baloney we’ve heard from Fauci for the last year. Enough.
