Killing America

Author and broadcaster, Bill O’Reilly has written a number of “Killing” books, Killing Lincoln, Killing Jesus, Killing the Rising Sun and so on, 10 historical works so far.  Perhaps his next in the series should be “Killing America”. The traditional values of the Nation are under daily assault by vocal left wing, progressive political elites, and their compliant partners in the mainstream and social media. These lunatics are hell-bent on abrogating the basic freedoms found in our Constitution’s Bill of Rights, to change the foundational elements of the American experience.

The social media Leftists at Facebook and Twitter have, with increasing alacrity, been censoring and banning views that don’t fit storylines found on the editorial pages of the Washington Post and the New York Times. Individuals who don’t kowtow, find their accounts suspended or permanently banned (e.g., Donald J Trump). Currently the investigative journalist James O'Keefe of Project Veritas had his account banned from Twitter as well.  His crime? Exposing the extreme bias against former President Trump via a surreptitious video of a CNN employee crowing about how they shape the news. Unless one has been living under a rock for the last several years, this favoritism from CNN should not come as a surprise. Free speech as defined by basement dwelling dweebs is not healthy.

The “elites” hang on every word from the constantly changing pandemic outcome opinions of the highest paid government bureaucrat, Dr. Antony Fauci. In Congressional hearings this week, Representative Jim Jordan of Ohio vigorously questioned Fauci about what was the metric, the measure, the date that would indicate when normality and personal liberty would return. His response was arrogant and shocking. He said, "I don't look at this as a liberty thing." The congressman replied, "Well, that's obvious!" 

This new regime in Washington has appointed some critical advocates of revisionist history. Recently United Nation Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield, speaking at activist and tax evader Rev. Al Sharpton’s National Actions Network Conference, seems to believe her job is to bring critical race theory to the world, with a special focus on criticizing her own country.  “I’ve seen for myself how the original sin of slavery weaved white supremacy into our founding documents and principles.” There is nothing in those documents that endorses white supremacy. Someone tell the Ambassador that her day job description is not to operate as a critic of, but as a sponsor of American ideals. Given her education and high-profile career path, she is hardly an example of someone who has been held back by racism.

Now the threat of packing the Supreme Court with four additional Justices is harmful on a scale beyond the destruction of settled law. Lead by two elected, progressive Democrat activists, Sen Ed Markey of Massachusetts (Bernie Sanders with hair) and Representative Jerald Nadler of New York (NutriSystem denier), these two geniuses claim the only way to bring balance to the court is to add Justices…picked by Joe Biden. Thus, giving the current court a 7-6 liberal majority.  This will undermine judicial responsibility and independence. It destroys the decision legitimacy of the Supreme Court by making it a political body.  Regardless of the outcome of this stupidity, the Justices have received a warning that their judgments should be politically correct or else.  The damage could be irreparable. This intimidation game has potentially significant effects on our freedom.

Gun control is the crown jewel of the progressive leftist agenda to dimmish the rights citizens have under the Second Amendment. Recent shootings have been widely publicized with the declaration that gun possession is the cause and not the idiots who operate the weapons. The statistics are overwhelming that law abiding registered gun owners are not the progenitors of the violence witnessed. But gun ownership has to be demonized so the narrative aligns with the goals of the Left’s pursuit of raw political power that is centered in Washington DC. Again, as Senator Kennedy opined,” We don’t need more gun control, we need more idiot control.”

The phrase, “ride to the sounds of the guns”, originated during the Civil War because written orders were not timely, there was no sophisticated communication.  Leaders who wanted to effectively direct the battles and make the right decisions had to ride to see what was happening.  That is why all freedom loving Americans must pay attention to events and independently analyze the blather from the political elites.  Then use their own common sense and be prepared to take peaceful action, first and foremost at the ballot box, to ensure that the Socialist movement is stopped in its tracks.

To prevent “Killing America” from becoming a horrifying reality, the truth of this Nation’s founding and growth is an imperative responsibility of our flawed, now woke, educational system.  Public education has to be truth centered and not revisionist.  Only parents can solve this by being equally informed and hold educators accountable.  Fortunately, there are media outlets that do not skew their reportage to the Left or Right but play it straight. Find them.

Nearly 100 days into the regime of the most radical, progressive President in America history, it ought to be abundantly clear that Joe Biden and his acolytes are dead set on changing our Republic into a European form of Socialist governance. That is unacceptable.

It’s time to mount up and ride.
