Lying Tribunes

"Lying tribunes" is an informal, derogatory expression used to describe dishonest news reporters or untrustworthy populist figures. Originally, a Tribune was an elected official in ancient Rome who protected the common people. The word later evolved to mean any champion of public rights or the name of a local newspaper. Adding "lying" to the term, turns the title upside down, framing a supposed "protector of the truth" or public news source as a dishonest propagandist or spreader of fake news.

Prominent among untrustworthy populist figures is the man once revered as “America’s Doctor”, Dr. Anthony Facui. Through his released government writings, he has been revealed to be a narcissist, a megalomaniac, and a liar. The contrast between his public persona and what he thought about himself, as revealed in his government diaries, is stunning. He was enamored of his newfound celebrity and veneration particularly by the entertainment community. He and Babs Streisand became pals, and he gave her advice about a medical issue on her fanny.  Cannot make this up, he actually wrote about it.

The legacy media unanimously declared that Dr. Fauci’s testimony before the Senate was nothing more than a partisan witch hunt. The major networks and print media ignored the conflicting information he wrote in his diaries, i.e. masks didn’t work, the virus never came from a “wet” market in Wuhan China, six-foot social distancing wasn’t going to work, and that the virus was a vigorous flu. Tony refused to answer questions in this week’s hearing, chaired by Senator Rand Paul. He invoked his priviledge to remain silent under the 5th Amendment of the Constitution 111 times.  Tony would not even answer what color his tie was, the day of the week or the color of the carpet in front of him.

Turns out that Tony’s line of bullshot he fed the Nation would put an old west medicine man selling elixirs from the back of a wagon to shame. Yet in the Senate hearing all he could say 111 times was, “On the advice of counsel I respectfully declined to answer based upon my rights under the 5th Amendment of the Constitution.”  A career DC Swamp dweller, Dr. Fauci is a world class weasel and a lying tribune.

The other problem that the nation faces is the Fourth Estate, public news sources who operate as a dishonest propagandists or spreaders of fake news. Within seconds after Fauci’s disgraceful appearance before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, the legacy media immediately began throwing shade at the committee Republicans. Truly astonishing that those charged with keeping public officials accountable showed no interest in his actions during the pandemic or his “Dear Diary” entries that were at odds with his public utterances.

These same scribes and newsreaders, posing as journalists missed the significance of the recent reveal of Biden’s ghostwriter, Mark Zwonitzer’s interview tapes for his 2017 book, “Promise Me, Dad: A Year of Hope, Hardship, and Purpose.” On the tapes, Joe Biden appeared confused, struggled to remember facts and lost his train of thought during a series of meandering conversations with his ghostwriter four years before he was elected President. The people who covered up for Biden should be held accountable.

According to the Oversight Project, a group dedicated to government transparency, the recordings prove “Biden was already demonstrating significant cognitive decline” when he began meeting with Zwonitzer, just a few months after leaving the Obama Administration. In the sections of the audio tapes that were not redacted, Biden references his “confused state of mind on many days,” the group said in a statement. “As we know what occurred during his Presidency, Biden was clearly experiencing good days and bad days as far back as 2017.” 

Even worse was confirmation that President Biden knew he had “willfully retained and disclosed classified materials” after leaving the Vice Presidency. Special Counsel Robert Hur discovered this fact during his investigation of the material in Joe’s Delaware garage.

Hur refused to charge the then sitting President because he would “likely present himself to a jury, as he did during our interview of him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.” Even though President Biden knew the passages were classified and intended to share classified information, the ghostwriter did not hold a security clearance, and Biden knew this, wrote Hur in his report.

The picking and choosing of political reportage that obfuscates the facts and casts certain individuals in a favorable light is the greatest threat that this Nation faces. Toleration for attacks based on nothing more than pure bias is beyond disgraceful, it threatens the foundation of a free republic.

There may be hope yet. The media is slowly beginning to report what a bunch of Lying Tribunes the Democratic Socialists of America are. Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) has taken a stand against these wannabe communists and confronted their lies with courage unseen in the mainstream Democratic party. His vigorous opposition to their polices and positions has put Senate leader Chuck “U” Schumer (D-NY) and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jefferies (D-NY) to shame. Fetterman gets it.

Now what’s needed is the complete exposure and expulsion of the Zohran Mamdani, the Lying Tribune Mayor of New York City.
