Move On
It’s time to move on from the election. Unless you’ve been living in a Montana cave, the entire civilized world knows that Vice President Kamala Harris got a world class thrashing by former President, and now President-elect Donald Trump. Not only did he win the electoral college by the largest margin in over 36 years, but he won the popular vote as well, despite Harris’ large margin in the liberal bastions of New York, California, and Illinois. The people have spoken.
Sadly, the pearl clutching progressive loons won’t face the reality of the results. The usual suspects in the legacy media are offering all kinds of excuses for Trump’s triumph. It is pitiful. They can’t face the fact that Kamala was a horrible candidate who cackled her way through a couple of billion dollars of campaign funds, never articulating a clear thought or vision of governance. Trump told the folks exactly what he was going to do; lower energy prices, close the border, return America back as the world’s leader, restore pride in the Nation and root out the corruption resident in the Federal government.
Even The New York Times, no friend of the President elect, has editorialized that it’s time to move on. The paper has urged that the flimsily cases against him need to be dropped. On November 15, 2024, the paper opined.
“For many Democrats, dismissing the cases feels profoundly wrong because they see them as the last chance to bring Mr. Trump to justice. In truth, support for the cases among many Democrats doesn’t seem to be based on confidence in the prosecutors’ legal theories and evidence. Instead, it seems to be driven by politics and hatred of Mr. Trump. That reinforces why they must be dismissed.”
Still the most stubborn progressives refuse to accept the fact that there’s a new sheriff in town. They refuse to move on. Liberal Mayors and Governors in sanctuary cities and states have stated that any attempt to return illegal immigrants to their native countries will be met with resistance. The goofy mayor of Denver said that any effort to remove them will look like the slaughter in Tiananmen Square. The man is truly nuts. Most of these alleged leaders have a law background. Did they sleep through the class where they were taught that Federal laws supersede state laws?
Families need to move on. Not inviting or going to Thanksgiving dinner because someone supported Trump or Harris is absolutely ridiculous. This day is a celebration of the blessing that have been bestowed, and recognition of the ties that bind families together. No need to rehash the “who won and why” over the turkey and mashed potatoes. It’s fine if you want to argue over who gets the drumstick but not over the past election results. Instead, discuss the positives in each guest’s life and what they are thankful for. Leave politics for another day. Quietly respect everyone’s right to choose.
Move on because the sun still rises in the East and sets in the West. Move on as the leaves haven’t stopped turning. Move on because this Nation is still a free and democratic republic.
Just move on.
