Justice
The week has been all about “Justice”, story after story in the media about the late Supreme Court Justice, Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Then there was “Justice” for Breonna Taylor in the aftermath of the Kentucky Grand Jury finding that a charge of murder against the police wasn't warranted.
All summer there’s been an emerging narrative that justice is needed for all the aggrieved, suffering minorities in a nation that evidently suppressed these groups with total disregard for their human rights. No, we’re not talking about Communist China and their treatment of the Muslim Uyghurs. This is the media narrative that is blasted at Americans day after day, that this country is a mean-spirited, nasty society that needs radical change.
The liberal progressive consensus considers America’s institutions, traditional values and even its history to be fundamentally illegitimate. Our culture needs to be cancelled. Should the Democrats win in November, their leaders can be expected to reflect and advance much of that radicalism. Joe Biden has said nothing to the contrary. His views have melded with socialist Senator Bernie Sanders and radical Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
With the selection of a new Supreme Court Justice impending, the appointment of a conservative justice committed to confirming our traditional values and history might prove opportune. The new justice could serve as a preventative measure to stop the rush to cancel our culture and history, rather than have someone watch the rewriting of the principles on which the Nation was founded.
The latest civil disorder born of a Grand Jury’s failure to indict the police officers for murder, is the justice the mob wants and has no basis in the facts examined by the grand jurors. Breonna Taylor was shot accidentally after her boyfriend fired FIRST at police serving a warrant. That’s a documented fact…look it up.
Even NBA great Charles Barkley has come under fire for his comments regarding the latest civil disorder. Before the Lakers/Nuggets game he opined, “…we do have to take into account that her boyfriend shot at the cops and shot a cop. I don't think this one was like George Floyd or Ahmaud Arbery and things like that.”
Barkley also spoke out on calls by protesters to 'defund the police', cautioning against knee-jerk responses to cop killings. He argued that defunding police forces will mean that fewer officers, and that will leave black neighborhoods unprotected.
Barkley said, “Who are black folks supposed to call, Ghostbusters?”
Of course, the media news readers also weighed in with some truly ridiculous remarks. The prize winner of all the stupid statements came from none other the Oprah’s pal, CBS This Morning host Gayle King, who said,
“Peaceful protests led to two officers in the hospital”.
Peaceful? Hey Gayle! The policemen were shot by a rioter during a violent protest in Louisville Wednesday night. Another clear example of how the news is shaped with no regard to the actual event. This is the real injustice the Nation is subject to when the “free press” becomes an agent of anarchy.
Social justice and racial justice, as currently constructed by the left, are extremely unforgiving doctrines and will not reconcile the contradiction between the settled law and their ideology.
Justice is the result of a quiet, logical adjudication of facts. Not the burning, breaking and violent intrusions witnessed when a minority disagrees with the honest finders of fact.
