Pravda on the Potomac
The impeachment farce played out in the Senate this week, with the disingenuous Democrats using deceptively edited videos of the January 6 “insurrection” and scripted dialog that would be inadmissible in any honest court. What it is though, is propaganda that would be more fittingly found in Stalinist Russia rather than in what is widely regarded as the greatest deliberative body in the world.
A Hollywood-like crafted cinematic depiction of the events was played in the Senate by the Democrats to open their presentation within the first 3 minutes of their impeachment performance. This misleading depiction intentionally edited out Trump urging the crowd to protest “peacefully”, deleting that exculpatory evidence. Instead, all the viewers saw was 3 words that Trump uttered, “fight like hell,” over and over again, completely distorting what the President actually said. The expression “fight like hell” has be used repeatedly by politicians when they’re seeking support from voters. Even Joe Biden said in May of 2018, "They asked me if I’d like to debate this gentleman, and I said no. I said, If we were in high school, I’d take him behind the gym and beat the hell out of him.” Isn’t that a violet threat?
Lead House Impeachment Manager, Jamie Raskin is a mendacious individual for letting that video stand. He knew it was dishonest, an underhanded strategy to suppress the truth. Disgusting. This is the same Rep. Jamie Raskin who promoted the story that Trump stole the election in 2016 and has used the expression “fight like hell” in his campaigns, even in reference to President Trump’s policies. Hypocrite. Naturally the dunderheads in the media won’t report any of this.
In Trump’s speech he did not promote the violence, the destruction that occurred during the assault on the Capitol. He didn’t ask the attendees to attack the police or get involved in the chaos generated by the far-right fringe elements believed responsible for this riot. If that were the true, then Donald Trump would have to be charged criminally as a private citizen. That charge would be preposterous as his words do not come close to meeting the legal definition of incitement…urging someone to behave unlawfully.
Speaker Pelosi and House Democrats never bothered to conduct an investigation nor examine the facts. Blinded by their hatred of Trump, they made a hasty decision to once again put their Trump Derangement Syndrome on national display. Unlike the first impeachment farce, there wasn’t one House Judiciary Committee hearing laying out evidence of a conspiracy to conduct an insurrection. But now we find out in recently filed federal court documents, that this assault was planned weeks in advance. This information is supported by a dozen FBI affidavits. This data challenges the Article of Impeachment concocted by the Democratic leadership.
It is impossible for a person to incite a pre-planned event. But none of that mattered to Nancy Pelosi in her rush to throw the former President under the impeachment bus. She must have cooked up the case in her San Francisco mansion’s kitchen, with the $24,000 fridge. This is what happens when you overindulge in $12.00 a pint ice cream without waiting to scrutinize the facts.
Anyone with an IQ higher that a soda cracker knows what the outcome of this charade will be. There isn’t a chance the Democrats will get 67 Senators to vote for conviction. Just like last year’s ill-conceived impeachment debacle, this inane exercise is a waste of time, but on the other hand it holds up the Senate from enacting Biden’s attempt to remake the country…a decided benefit going forward.
No right-minded Constitutional Scholar agrees that this “trial” is even close to what the framers of the Constitution had in mind over two hundred years ago. The very erudite Georgetown law professor, Jonathan Turley has stated, “If everything is now politics, this trial is little more than a raw partisanship cloaked in constitutional pretense.” A pathetic attempt by the Democrats to tar and feather the former President.
Suffice it to say, in their opening defense, the former President’s lawyers eviscerated the nearly 16 hours of partisan propaganda in the first hour of their presentation. It was a takedown worthy of the World Wrestling Federation as the lies, distortions and their misleading video clips were skillfully exposed and debunked. The Democrat haters and the House prosecutors were exposed as liars, without the slightest hint of doubt. Every American, upon seeing their representatives exposed as hypocrites and liars, should never vote for them again.
All the while Biden sits like a Sphinx on the sidelines or in the White House basement despite having vowed repeatedly to unite the country. Revealing himself to be more of a partisan hack than the great healer, he’s allowed a politically divisive impeachment debacle to proceed that will only further alienate millions of Americans who voted for Trump.
Meanwhile the Democrats and Joe want to punish anyone who voted for Trump any way they can.…plain and simple. So much for leadership and his promises of healing the nation…he’s doing the happy dance hoping that this Pravda propaganda will resurface in 2024, if Donald Trump seeks the Presidency again. Based on the today’s defense rebuttal, that dog won’t hunt.
Wonder if his dancing partner will be Kamala…
