Saving California – Part Deux

One might think that the State and local leadership would have their act together after more than a week of continued burning. Not so fast.  Can’t happen when the Governor and the Los Angeles Mayor are morons. In their recent appearances on broadcast media, they have at times been seen grinning like Cheshire cats, speaking gibberish and making no sense at all.

Newsom is whining about Trump referring to him as “Newscum” in social media. Says he hasn’t been called that since he was in the seventh grade.  His management of the state has been worse than what a seventh grader could do.  He has spent money on pie-in-the-sky, theoretical “green” projects. Perhaps he needs to be reminded of his old nickname or at least manage the State like a tenth grader.

The equally looney Democrat controlled legislature just voted to spend 50 million dollars this week to “Trump Proof” the State. The money is to be used for attorneys, to represent illegal immigrants in deportation actions. Did these geniuses vote for funds to clean up forest brush as Trump suggested in 2018? Did they vote to build some more reservoirs? Not a freaking chance. They have failed to protect the State from fire danger.

Pictures have surfaced of Mayor Bass at a cocktail party in Ghana, while the city was burning.  When asked if she regretted making the trip, she replied no.  Never mind that when she ran for office, she promised that her only out of city trips would be to Sacramento and Washington DC.  Since she assumed office, she has been on four taxpayer funded jaunts. The LA Fire Department Chief stated in a press conference that the financial cuts, initiated by Mayor Bass from the department’s budget, had a direct effect on firefighters’ ability to operate effectively. Too many LA fire trucks couldn’t operate because they needed maintenance. No mechanics or money available to fix them. Unbelievable.

So now there’s a move to recall these two progressive Democrat leaders.  The petitions are out already.  Newsom has already survived one recall attempt, defeating popular conservative radio host Larry Elder.  For the record, his winning vote total was tabulated in less that two days.  Amazing, since counting the vote in the recent election took 38 days.  Coincidence?

The fires are getting under control, but the loss and devastation is similar to the landscape of Dresden or Tokyo after they were firebombed during World War II.  The rebuilding effort will take years, and certainly the Federal government will be needed to fund the restoration of the destroyed cities.  California and Los Angeles have spent themselves into record debt on woke programs.  The dispersal of money will have to be carefully monitored as Bass and Newsom are irresponsible spendthrifts.

Make no mistake, this will not please either of them, but the proof is in the pudding and California Democrats make lousy pudding. So, it would be in the interest of Los Angeles and the State to get some new cooks.  In fact, the Nation could use some as well, if you have heard the Senate Democrat’s questions of Trump’s cabinet picks during the confirmation hearings. 

Monday, January 20th will be the dawn of a new Administration that will move swiftly to help California. American taxpayers will help rebuild California because it’s the humanitarian thing to do. Newsom and Bass just need to get out of the way.  A Trump appointed Reconstruction Czar, with no plans to travel to Ghana, or dine at the French Laundry, should supervise the funds, while the Mayor and Governor battle angry Californians for their political lives.

So, the money will flow, however don't expect any lessons to be learned as long as Californians continue to elect leaders like Newsom and Bass.
