Shock and Awe
“Shock and Awe”, a phrase that was first heard in reference to the Gulf War. The American military used tactics that did indeed shock the enemy as they were in awe of this Nation’s power. The President-elect’s plans are causing shock and awe in the media as the same old progressive news readers have filled their pants as Trump reveals plans for his Second Administration. In fact, some outlets are using the phrase to describe his strategy.
Who in his right mind would not want to find a way to stop the war in Ukraine? But some of the dolts in the legacy media are raising that old canard that Trump is practicing “Russian Collusion” as he seeks an end to the killing…on both sides. Why should we continue to send billions of dollars sponsoring that war, when this Nation has ample problems at home that could use that money? Money that could go to the hurricane victims in western North Carolina or funding for those who have suffered from the devastating fires in Los Angeles. Being a peacemaker is usually considered a noble calling, except if it’s Donald J. Trump, according to these press charlatans.
The current occupant of the White House appears to be creating problems as he inches to the door. Not making this a “smooth” transition, as his aides have claimed. Joe decides he’s going to save the environment by issuing a sweeping Executive Order banning offshore drilling on virtually the entire United States coastline. Biden’s contempt for the average citizen knows no bounds. Does this addled leader know that lower energy costs benefit the economy and consumers in a number of ways? Apparently not, as it seems that whatever Trump wants to do, he’s against.
Not content with an offshore drilling ban Joe Flew to Joshua Tree, California to dedicate a new National Monument and promptly banned mineral and oil exploration on millions of acres of federal land. Some of these lands have proven reserves of rare earth minerals critical to the elimination of dependence on Chinese sources. Maybe the use of that land interferes with some old secret business deal that Hunter negotiated with his Asian buddies.
In a news conference this week, Trump re-emphasized that there will be hell to pay if the hostages held by Hamas aren’t released. Naturally the legacy media had an apoplectic fit, moaning that it could lead to increased conflict in the region. What? As if there was peace in the region? No wonder these clowns continue to lose credibility every day. In the same conference he called for cooperation from Mexico and Canada on the border and trade. To hear some of the reportage one would think that he declared war on these two countries.
Trump opined at the news conference about the Canadian trade deficit and how they’d be better off if they were part of the United States, renaming the Gulf of Mexico, the Gulf of America and taking back the Panama Canal since the Chinese are running it. And to top it off, the Nation should buy Greenland. This is vintage Trump shock and awe. The legacy media crushed their clutched pearls. Folks should know, that this trolling by Trump, is his way of fixing attention on those issues for future negotiations with those parties. Anyone who’s brighter than an empty boxcar knows that.
The trade deficit is 200 billion a year with Canada, it needs to be fixed. The Chinese have operational control of the Panama Canal at both ends. That wasn’t the intent when President Carter turned it over to Panama’s government. As for Greenland, it has large deposits of rare earth minerals and energy resources that the Russians and Chinese are salivating over. Does the Main Street media tell the folks this? Nope. They’d rather make the President-elect out as a wild-eyed loon. As for the “Gulf of America” that was whimsical but possible…sounds good, right?
What the Nation should be shocked about is how the cognitively impaired current President is lining the Trump transition path with political land mines. The collective awe should be that for four years the folks were duped by the media, that Joe was a kindly, old uniter when in fact he will be remembered as a divisive, progressive, prevaricating grifter. One of the worst Presidents in American history and the beneficiary of greatest political cover-up ever. Joe makes the Nixon Watergate scandal look like small potatoes.
A return to the core National values, those the founders espoused, will be the foundation of Trump’s second administration. The Swamp will be in shock and in awe.
