Sunrise, Sunset
“Sunrise, Sunset”, a song from Fiddler on the Roof that is about changes in life. This Nation is experiencing changes that were thought to be unthinkable a couple of generations ago. The progressive leftists now control the Democrat party, there is no room for moderates, ask Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia. Sadly one of the great moderate democrats, former Senator Joe Lieberman just passed away. A tremendous loss of a reasonable voice, much needed in today’s toxic political environment.
NBC, “Proud as a Peacock”, whose formal name is the National Broadcasting Corporation, should now be known as the Nobody But Communists network in view of their shameful treatment of Ronna McDaniel, the former chairman of the Republican Party. The management geniuses of the network thought it would be a good idea to have a conservative pundit to contrast with the current crew of leftist blatherers. Unfortunately, the on-air talent at NBC and cable MSNBC went nuts, fanny over teapot nuts. Apparently, the thought of anyone with a view contrary to theirs was horrifying and left no doubt that this hiring was unacceptable. Management caved and Ronna was fired. The sunset on fairness at NBC.
Has the sun set on law enforcement? Seems that the criminals are emboldened to commit acts of violence and robbery with impunity. This can be traced back to the liberal, progressive District Attorneys who allow the scofflaws to game the system. No bail policies and light punishments if any, contribute mightily to a weakened justice system. A glaring example is the recent killing of a police officer in New York City. The suspect had been arrested 21 times and released. Surely this heinous individual shouldn’t have been allowed to roam freely in a civilized society. But he was. New York City DA Alvin Bragg would rather prosecute a former President for an 8-year-old alleged “hush money” payment than bother with real crime.
If you pay any attention to the climate zealots in the Biden Regime, the days of the gasoline car are numbered. Leading the charge to this insanity are the progressive legislative loons in California, along with the endorsement of the Nation’s worst Governor, have mandated that there will be no gasoline powered cars sold in the state after 2035. Never mind that the state hasn’t built a electric generating facility in years and currently suffers from occasional brown outs when the grid is taxed during the summer.
Who really benefits from the EV push? China, because they control most of the battery supply chain. Electric vehicles aren't necessarily better for the environment either. The expense incurred to produce the EV batteries is never factored by the zealots. When you account for battery degradation and replacement costs, that come much sooner than gasoline engine rebuilds, the economics result in EVs being scrapped much sooner than their internal combustion engine counterparts. There will be no sunset on the gasoline powered car.
The Nation needs a sunrise, a renewal. The good old days were really the good old days. Once you could trust the news purveyors to give you both sides. Police were respected and criminals weren’t coddled. Do the crime, serve the time actually worked. The government didn’t pick your mode of transportation, whether or not you could have a gas stove or how much electricity your home could have.
Sunrise now more than ever.
