The Kitchen Sink
During World War II the expression was used to describe an intense attack as in “they threw everything at us, except the kitchen sink” or “they threw everything they had at us, including the kitchen sink”. That is an apt term for the latest events surrounding the former President.
Fani T. Willis, the radical leftist democrat District Attorney for Fulton County Georgia, threw everything but the “Kitchen Sink” at former President Donald J. Trump for 2020 election interference. 41 separate felony counts were contained in criminal indictments announced Monday night. She also included 18 others, associated with Trump, in charges she and a grand jury concocted about the 2020 presidential election. Fani is using the Georgia RICO statute (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations), alleging that Trump and his co-conspirators truly did "constitute a criminal organization" in their questioning of election results. This logic confounded legal experts. Further, she plans on trying all 19 at the same time. Most experts concluded that Fani has created a hot legal mess, as the trial logistics of this are absurd. It took her two and a half years to bring the charges, when she could have done this in two and a half months. Fani is a prosecutorial dim light.
Who is Fani? A Californian by birth, her father was a criminal defense attorney and member of the Black Panthers. She spent her formative years with him in Washington DC after her parents divorced. Fani found her way to Emory University in Atlanta where she graduated with her law degree. She joined the Fulton County District Attorney’s office, briefly had a private practice and was a municipal judge before election to her current position.
Usually, this kind of prosecution would have been brought by a state Attorney General not some overly ambitious county District Attorney. Amazingly, no other county DA in the state of Georgia signed on to this legal travesty. What hasn’t been widely reported is that Fani recently announced a reelection run and cranked up a new website. She obviously believes the publicity from these charges will enhance fundraising, despite failing to bring down a crime rate in Atlanta that ranks in the top ten municipalities in the United States. The overall incompetence of her office is disgraceful. The Grand Jury findings were posted Monday by Reuters seven hours before actual witness testimony concluded. The post was identical to the actual documents revealed later that evening. An abundant demonstration of ineptitude, proving that the whole late-night show was pre-ordained. The fix was in and has been for months. Finally the presiding judge over this debacle used to work for her. No surprise.
Meanwhile one would think that the corporate media was breathlessly waiting for “666 Mark of the Beast” to appear on Trump’s forehead in light of their rabid reporting. But Americans are fed up with these endless indictments, always timed after another revelation about the Biden grifting scandal is published. Folks are wising up to the weasels in Washington. They are slowly beginning to realize that if this is allowed to stand, it sets a dangerous precedent. Grudge holding public legal servants will emboldened to charge candidates who they don’t like with election interference if they exercise their free speech rights with respect to election results.
Remember Stacy Abrams? She repeatedly challenged the results of her gubernatorial race in Georgia, and to this day has never conceded defeat to the current governor Brian Kemp. She has been vociferous in her defiance of the settled results. Where is the indictment against her? Fani, charge her. Abrams, like Trump did not commit a crime because she believed what she said, that the vote in Georgia was suppressed and she lost because of it.
Trump has a right, a Constitutional right, to have an opinion that the election 2020 was rigged. He has a right to say it. He has a right to write it. He has a right to go around to rallies and rail against it. That is not a crime. It’s called the First Amendment to the Constitution. This country allows foolishness from Republicans and Democrats. What shouldn’t be allowed is the weaponization of the Justice system against political opponents. Too many respected legal scholars on both sides of the aisle have opined that if Trump weren’t running for President, these indictments would have never been brought. Look it up.
Again, the Nation gets to watch Donald J. Trump dodge kitchen sinks while not one has yet been lobbed in the direction of the Bidens. The two-tiered kitchen sink tossing system is alive and well thanks to Fani, Jack Smith and Alvin Bragg.
The national media continues to be the greatest Biden anti-sink defense mechanism in history.
