The Resolution Season

It’s that time of year when resolutions are made, some are kept but many are broken. Commitments to quit bad habits, start new ones, are all noble attempts by folks to make differences in their daily lives. Making them is easy, keeping resolutions is a heavy lift. Halfway through the month, the fitness palaces are already uncrowded as January “get in shape” promises are forgotten. Wouldn’t it be great if the influencers in our daily lives would make, keep and not forget some resolutions?

How about a few from the major political parties?  Democrats can resolve to stop making Hitler references about former President Trump. The comparison is absurd and only highlights their true ignorance of history. Republicans can quit making fun of President Biden’s mangled syntax and on prompter confusion.  Just let the man speak for himself, he doesn’t need the Republicans to pile on.

What about a real resolution to solve the southern border crisis?  Enough of the blame game by the Biden Regime.  Joe cancelled every executive order that the former administration had in place to control the border. As such, blaming the Congress for the current chaos is disingenuous at best, but really boils down to a lot of horse dung from Joe and the gang. For starters, simply reinstate the Remain in Mexico policy, finish the wall, and send those who are here illegally home to get in line for legal immigration.  Fat chance.

Let’s have the Regime resolve to stop blaming the crappy economy on the previous administration.  Man up Joe, and tell the folks the truth. 36 months ago stuff was a lot less expensive and the available data backs it up. Bidenomics is a massive bust. Just ask those who pump their own gas, go to the grocery store where food prices have risen 20% since Joe was canonized, or pay their own mortgage. Buck passing is the favorite pastime of those who reside inside the DC beltway. Don’t bother hoping for that resolution to be made.

It's about time that racial bomb thrower, The Rev. Al Sharpton, resolves to learn the difference between racism and plagiarism. If he knew the difference, he wouldn’t be running around claiming that Dr. Claudine Gay was fired as Harvard President because she was a black woman.  Her egregious serial theft of other’s intellectual work has been well documented by the Harvard board.  Does anybody really think Al will take the time to look up the definitions in Websters? While we’re at it, Fani Willis, the rogue prosecutor in Fulton County Georgia, should resolve to stop blaming racism as the reason that her tryst with the divorce attorney on her staff has been discovered.

Resolved that the phrase “existential threat” is overblown hyperbole. The corporate media needs to remove this phrase from their reportage. “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) republicans are not a threat to democracy. The real threat to democracy is in Colorado, Maine and other states where democratic activists are attempting to keep former President Trump off the ballot. The demonization of these voters, who didn’t cast a ballot for the Biden Regime, as an “existential threat” to the Nation is ridiculous. Would these geniuses prefer “Make America Lousy Again” (MALA)?

Resolutions are kept by committed, resolute individuals. Too often it’s the most disingenuous who proudly announce theirs and then pretend to dedicate themselves to this new behavior.  In most circles, this is a classic use of the technique known as “smoke and mirrors”.

Time to make resolutions last more than half a month and expose the phonies.
