Buyer’s Remorse

If you are one of the 80 million that voted for Joe Biden to be your President, you might want to pay attention to what he and his minions are doing. Since he took the oath of office, Joe has signed 33 executive orders, agency directives, memoranda and proclamations as of January 25, and there’s more on the way. With 21 of the 33, new executive orders, Biden has taken presidential powers to a level unseen in the history of the Republic.

To properly frame this rule by fiat, his predecessors, in their first week in office, executed the following: Trump signed 4, Obama signed 5, Bush signed none, and Clinton signed 1. No President in history has issued this many, even in their first 100 days. Biden’s serial use of the Presidential pen marks a colossal, historic expansion of Oval Office power.

Biden’s cancellation of the XL Pipeline has cost 11,000 union jobs. Those layoffs have already started, and 60,000 indirect related jobs are also in jeopardy. Buyer’s remorse has now been expressed by the Unions who endorsed Joe for President. Of course, the Greta Thunberg, tree hugging, environmental crowd is ecstatic, forgetting, that the oil will now have to be shipped from Canada by rail in tank cars, pulled by diesel smoke spewing locomotives, to the Gulf coast refineries, not in a much safer pipeline. The only beneficiary of this policy is Warren Buffet who owns the railroads that will ship the oil.

In New Mexico, the state government will suffer a huge loss of revenue from the shutdown of fracking on the federal land in the Permian Basin.  The royalties generated from that activity are critical to the state’s budget, especially education. It’s a fair bet that the people of New Mexico, who gave President Biden a 55% margin in the 2020 election, are no doubt confused about what it was they actually voted for. It’s called buyer’s remorse.

One hallmark of Biden's Presidential campaign featured nonstop harsh criticisms of former President Trump's approach to COVID-19. If elected Joe would solve the problem straight away.  In his first speech as President-elect, he declared that the new administration's work "begins with getting COVID under control." Then this past Friday, Biden indicated that the trajectory of the pandemic can't be changed in the coming months, no matter what Americans do. The President and Pinocchio could share the same nose.

Executive orders stopped the construction of the border wall and mandated a hundred day pause in deportations by Customs and Border Protection. This prompted Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton to file a lawsuit against the federal government to halt to the 100-day pause. The vast majority of those being deported are known criminals and shouldn’t be released. The wall has made a difference with respect to curtailing drug smuggling. With national unemployment high due to the pandemic, the country doesn’t need inexpensive illegal laborers sneaking into the country.

Perhaps one of the most egregious orders Biden signed requires colleges receiving federal funding, must allow biological males who identify as female to compete on women’s sports teams and have access to their locker rooms. Hard not to believe that the parents of a female college athlete would be pleased with this “politically” correct stupidity. Anyone with an IQ higher than that of a hummingbird knows that males inherently have more muscle mass, greater bone density and are overall stronger that females regardless of how much transitional drugs they receive.  This single action should enrage the progressive Gloria Steinem like, feminist activists who are always railing about the inequities that women endure.  The silence on this issue has been deafening. When will that suffragette warrior, Senator Elizabeth Warren step up and condemn this assault on women’s rights? Try never.

Today’s latest executive orders that Biden signed are not about racial equality but racial inequities.  These directives will give advantages to certain ethic groups over others. Noted civil rights attorney Leo Terrill opined that these latest “Racial equity” actions would only acerbate the racial divide by helping some Americans and ignoring others. Joe thinks this newly created equity is needed because of historical injustices that some have endured. If this is a healing action, why would a civil rights attorney dispute it?

When President Biden reads a teleprompter, his staring at the scrolling words, reminds one of someone in a hostage video. Hard to know if he cares about or fully understands the impact of what he’s doing. The progressive liberal forces who support him certainly endorse them and are ecstatic about these unilateral un-legislated orders.

All these Presidential actions continue to validate the notion that “Buyer’s Remorse” could be real throughout the electorate.
