100 Days

This week a lot has been made about the first 100 days of the Trump Administration.  Notably the reportage. According to the Media Research Center, during his first 100 days of his first term, 89% of the stories in the legacy media were negative. Now in the first 100 days of his second term, the number has increased to 92% negative. By contrast Joe Biden got 59% positive in the same time frame. No wonder Trump Derangement Syndrome persists. Only now is the coverup of Biden’s diminished mental capacity during his presidency being reported.

During the recent White House Correspondents Dinner Alex Thompson, a political reporter for Axios who wrote extensively about Biden’s 2024 meltdown, received an award from the association for his coverage of Biden. In his acceptance speech, he discussed how the mainstream legacy media failed the public by not reporting the truth of his actual condition while he was President.

Thompson said, “President Biden’s decline and its cover-up by the people around him is a reminder that every White House, regardless of party, is capable of deception. We, myself included, missed a lot of this story, and some people trust us less because of it. We bear some responsibility for faith in the media being at such lows. I say this because acknowledging errors builds trust, and being defensive about them further erodes it. We should have done better.” No fooling Alex.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said she did “agree with that assessment from Alex Thompson,” whom she went on to characterize as having “won an award for writing a story, months and perhaps years after the American people already knew that story to be true.” She continued, “Millions of Americans watched our mentally incompetent president struggle with his day-to-day duties of this office. We watched our country be run into the ground as a result, and nobody in the media wanted to write about that or talk about it.”

Evidently, they have learned exactly nothing from their failure to report with a modicum of balance.  Hence the 92% negative figure. Meanwhile, how is the media doing reporting on the first 100 days of the Democrat’s reaction to the second Trump Presidency? What has the legacy print and broadcast media reported with any degree of balance? Nothing.

The Progressive Democrats have taken up the cause of Mahmoud Khalil, a student visa holding graduate student at Columbia University who was arrested for leading anti-semitic protests at the school. This individual openly supported Hamas and the slaughter of Jews in their October 7 attack. He was instrumental in preventing Jewish students from attending classes.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the Administration “will be revoking the visas and/or green cards of Hamas supporters in America so they can be deported.” Furthermore, the Department of Homeland Security can initiate deportation proceedings against green card holders for a broad range of alleged criminal activity, including supporting a terror group. Yet the Democrats believe that this guest student belongs in this Nation. Not.

They have in the last 100 days gone bonkers over the deportation of a “Maryland Dad” to prison in El Salvador. Never mind that there is a landslide of evidence that he is a provable member of the notorious MS-13 gang and a verified wife beater. His wife filed two complaints about his vicious treatment of her. This criminal has been caught transporting illegals in a human smuggling scheme.  The Biden Regime ignored him and many others of his ilk. Hard to believe that the Democrats want him returned to the United States, but they do. All the while the media would have folks believe that he is a victim of gross injustice.

Then there was Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) who spent 25 hours speaking in the Senate about essentially nothing of consequence, but rather a symbolic protest against President Donald Trump, in which he warned of a "grave and urgent" moment in American history. Somebody should have taken his temperature before he started spewing. Sadly, there wasn’t one provable injustice committed by President Trump that could be verified.  The media gave glowing reports of his stamia but nothing about the content of his blathering. Not surprising.

The overwhelming highlight of the Democrats first 100 days of the Trump Administration has to be the clown show featuring the old coot and the cutie, Senator Bernie Sanders (I-V) and Democratic Congresswoman Sandy Cortez (AOC). Their “Fighting Oligarchy Tour” utilized private jets and featured caterwauling about billionaires seizing control of the government. No one in the legacy media bothered to report that the number of billionaires openly supporting progressive causes far exceeds the two billionaires in the current government.

What’s been learned in the first 100 days of the second Trump Presidency is that the media stubbornly refuses to report any positive accomplishments. The vast majority of the media will continue to push the false narratives about Trump, Elon Musk, gang roundups and the current threat to democracy. All the manufactured media propaganda is just a way to keep the story off of the progress that President Trump is making.

The chaos at the southern border is over, practically no one is crossing. Criminal gang members are being deported despite the lawfare interference of activist judges and their overreaching orders. Waste, fraud and abuse of taxpayers’ revenue is being exposed. Does the legacy media give any of this news fair play? Not a chance.

It’s a sure bet that the Nation can expect more obfuscation and partisan reportage for the next 100 days and beyond.
