A Debate Ambush
Anytime in a basketball game when you have a three on one fastbreak, the team with that advantage is going to score. That was the case when former President Donald J. Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris spent 105 minutes on ABC debating the issues facing this Nation. Moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis, news anchors for the network, were the guards who repeatedly helped Kamala score unchallenged lie after lie. If there was ever any question about media bias, ABC removed all doubt during the Presidential debate.
Muir and Davis interrupted Trump at least five times to correct him or call out what they believed to be an inaccurate statement by the former President. Harris had exaggerated facial expressions as Trump spoke. She would have made a great silent screen actress, all she needed was some dramatic organ music playing in the background. It was so fake. Nevertheless, Kamala skated despite offering up the following outright falsehoods, unchecked by the referees (Moderators).
Harris says there are no elective late term abortions and Trump will sign a national abortion ban. Not true. Trump claimed babies were 'killed' outside the womb in failed abortions. Under Tim Walz, babies born alive in botched abortions are allowed to be left to die. Eight babies who survived abortions in Minnesota were abandoned and sadly perished under Walz. The ABC moderators simply said Trump was lying and moved on without adding context.
Kamala Harris told Trump to "stop lying" about her wanting to confiscate firearms. Harris has previously stated multiple times that she wants to launch a mandatory buyback program. Unchallenged.
Harris claimed Trump called neo-Nazi's "very fine people" during the Charlottesville protests over the removal of confederate statues. This hoax was debunked by Snopes, but Muir and Davis let it slide.
Trump said that Harris supported a bail fund for rioters arrested in Minneapolis during the George Floyd riots. She said that this was a lie. Kamala said she never asked people to donate to the rioters in Minnesota. No fact check from ABC. From her Twitter account on June 1, 2020, she posted, “If you’re able to, chip in now to the @MNFreedomFund to help post bail for those protesting on the ground in Minnesota.” What say you now Kamala?
Kamala Harris laughed when Trump said she wanted to defund the police. During a previous interview, Harris said having more cops on the street is "wrong." She also supported taking police officers out of schools. Again the ABC moderators failed to follow up with Harris. Once again nothing was disputed by the moderators.
Kamala Harris claimed Trump said there would be a bloodbath if he is not elected, insinuating that his supporters would start killing people. Completely false. The comment was made during a rally where Trump said there would be a "bloodbath" for the American auto industry if he is not elected because the country would be flooded with Chinese vehicles. This would be the result of their massive auto plants under construction in Mexico. Another massive ball drop by the dance team of Muir and Davis.
Then she claimed in 2020 that she was in favor of fracking, after stating in 2019 that she was definitely against it. There is absolutely no evidence anywhere that she said that. Pinocchio had a shorter nose. Did the moderators check her on that lie? Nope.
Clueless Kamala also stated that there were no Americans in a combat area anywhere, in the world in response to a question about the chaotic Afghanistan withdrawal. She might want to tell that to the American troops in Iraq and Syria who are under constant fire. Of course there was no fact check by the two unbiased questioners.
What a load of lies she put out throughout the debate. These are only a few. One fact checking organization stated that she had over 25 untruths.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. summed the debate up. "Vice President Harris has had four years to deal with these issues, and they’ve just gotten worse. And unfortunately, we had moderators who are clearly biased, who were constantly fact-checking Donald Trump. But none of these kinds of whoppers that the Vice President was saying."
The cold hard facts are that the moderators were complicit in Kamala Harris running a completely fact free debate performance. Aside from the onesided number of fact-checks, Trump received far more challenging questions, and the moderators clearly gave Harris a pass on a variety of issues.
Amazingly, after the debate former President Trump walked into the Spin room to do unscripted interviews with the entire room and then a sat down with Fox News’s Sean Hannity for an impromptu chat. Vice President Kamala Harris refused to speak to the media.
Given the outright bias of ABC, a lot of folks and pundits believe the “fix” was in. Is that possible? Is ABC a credible news organization or simply state run media? Meet 59 year old Dana Walden, a very senior Disney executive who runs ABC News for the Disney Corporation. As Disney’s highest-ranking television executive, Walden, is co-chairman of Disney Entertainment. She not only oversees ABC, but also a chain of local television stations, multiple TV studios, cable networks and Disney’s streaming services.
According to articles in the New York Times and the New York Post published last month, Dana Walden has known Kamala Harris since 1994. Their husbands, Matt Walden and Doug Emhoff, have known each other since the 1980s. The Waldens are “extraordinary friends,” per the Vice President. They have donated money to Harris’ political campaigns since at least 2003, when she ran for District Attorney in San Francisco.
The Waldens, Vice President Harris explained, set her up with her husband Doug Emhoff on a blind date. “In many ways, Dana and Matt are responsible for my marriage,” Kamala told attendees at a fund-raiser in April 2022 at the Walden’s home in Brentwood, California, where she and Doug also own a residence.
So is it really a stretch to think that Dana Walden might have whispered in the ears of her two news anchors and told them to “take it easy” on her pal Kamala and turn up the heat on Trump? Never! She wouldn’t do that! In the real world of the progressive corporate media, you can bet the farm that something was said. If anyone really thinks that isn’t possible, then they are living in LaLa land for certain.
The former President was quite right when he predicted in advance that the ABC organization would not be fair and evenhanded. Who would think that Trump would be praising Jake Tapper and Dana Bash of CNN for their evenhanded conduct in the June debate with Biden?
As for Vice President Harris, she is living proof that it’s not what you know, but who you know.
