Affordability
This is the latest concept that the progressive left and the legacy media are drum beating. Affordability refers to the degree to which a person, group, or organization has enough financial resources to pay for a particular product, service, or necessity without experiencing undue hardship. It is a measure of whether something is within an individual’s or household’s means, factoring in income, expenses, and priorities. Now this term is the political Soup de Jour.
Naturally high prices are Trumps fault. Who’s surprised? The dishonest media will not report that the higher prices of darn near everything was a result of the record high inflation, the worst in 48 years, under the Biden Regime. For those who have forgotten, Old Joe set records for reckless spending that did little more than accelerate the cost of living for ordinary Americans. No one can name a lasting benefit of the excessive government largess under his stewardship.
But we have a new Soup de Jour…blowing up drug gunboats operated by declared terrorist cartels. Anonymous sources cited by the Washington Post state that a second strike killed survivors of the first missile that hit the cocaine laden gunboat. That action was allegedly ordered by Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and carried out by Admiral Frank Bradley, the Special Operations Commander.
A supposed war crime screams the progressive left against “defenseless shipwrecked survivors”. That’s what well known progressive loon, Rep. Ted Lieu (D-Ca) called them. Rep. Carlos Gimenez (R-FL) had a different take. He stated. “You know, I didn’t see this kind of scrutiny when the Obama Administration was launching drone strikes against terrorist organizations in the Middle East.” Obama was taking terrorists out using the same executive authority that Trump is currently operating under. Hey Ted, you might want to sit this one out.
The New York Times, no friend of the Administration, just quietly debunked the Washington Post's claim that Pete Hegseth or Admiral Bradley are ‘war criminals’ by ordering the killing of terrorists after the initial strike. Turns out Hegseth did not give any further orders — and the target remained lawful because more terrorists might’ve gone and retrieved the boat. Admiral Bradley verified that in Congressional testimony.
When you make a strike on a target, it is not uncommon to call for a "repeat" in fire. The point in making a strike in the first place against an enemy, is to make sure that the target is destroyed. The mission was to sink the drug gunboat, and the first strike did not accomplish the mission, therefore a second strike is necessary. These cartels are enemies of the United States and should be dealt with accordingly.
The Nation cannot afford this kind of mendacious reportage. This is faux outrage over the elimination of known drug runners, seeking to feed their poisonous cargo to Americans, is unbelievable. Since when did certain well-known legislators become the champions of cartel thugs? Some are referring to them as “fishermen”. Why nearly three months after the order was given to take out the drug gunboat did six Democrats, now known as the “Seditious Six” participate in a video exhorting military servicemen to disobey “illegal orders”? The Washington Post report certainly seems timed to coincide with the subsequent release of the video. The firestorm created by it, led by Senator Mark Kelley (D-AZ), has all of the participants moonwalking their statement backwards.
Another unaffordable concept is the looting of the Nation by illegal immigrants. The millions that the Biden Regime allowed to enter over four years is costing taxpayers mightily. Somalian immigrants have set up a scheme that has fleeced the Minnesota state treasury. False organizations, masquerading as charitable organizations have collected substantial sums. The scandal revealed in an article found in The New York Times November 29th has prompted a major federal fraud investigation into Minnesota's social services. Evidently about a billion dollars has been funneled to the Somalia terrorist group Al-Shabaab.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz is dancing around this scandal better that the late Michael Jackson ever could. In his latest interviews on the Sunday news shows he went for the old reliable explanation, “it’s Trump’s fault”, in so many words. A pitiful excuse for a state leader who could have been Vice President. Even Kristen Welker the moderator of Meet the Press wasn’t buying his lame explanation.
The voters of Tennessee’s seventh congressional district sensibly rejected a progressive democrat, Aftyn Behn as their representative. This certified AOC follower has stated over the years that she thinks the police should be defunded, men can give birth, advocated eliminating ICE and hates country music. The latter was the coup de grace, especially in a district that includes Nashville, the home of country music. The 55% voters who decided that she was not affordable are wise, but you have to wonder about the 45% who thought she was the answer.
Affordability is a fundamental concept in economics and daily life. It shapes decisions, influences well-being, and determines access to essential goods and services.
The Nation cannot afford to ignore extremist narco-terrorist infiltration, wasted tax dollars and looney politicians with un-American agendas.
