Unity
Nineteen years ago today, the Nation unified when Islamic terrorists flew hijacked airplanes into the World Trade Center and Pentagon, killing over 3000 souls. Heroes were made from Todd Beamer who famously said “Let’s roll” as he led the attack on the animals who hijacked United Flight 93, intent on destroying the United States Capital, as well as the hundreds of policemen and firefighters who gave their lives to save lives, in the burning Twin Towers. The unity that day crossed all ethnic, racial, and religious lines.
Contrast that time with what is seen in our country today. There is a new brand of terrorists now attacking America. A home-grown bunch of leftist infidels, who haven’t the slightest idea of what makes this Nation great. Our public educational system has inculcated a generation of students with an ideology of fanatical doctrines usually found in cults. Sadly, the power of these intolerant leftist loons has advanced in the media and woke corporations, not just on America’s university campus.
The New York Post published the mug shots and backgrounds of Black Lives Matter “peaceful protesters” this week. Not a black face among the group. Moreover, the backgrounds of the arrested individual revealed that these were the children of the elite upper class…attendees of universities such as Sarah Lawrence, Yale, Rice and so on. Evidently, they believe that smashing the windows of an Apple store and throwing rocks at policemen will cleanse them of their white privilege. Where do you suppose these dimwitted morons learned this? Guess? The media and their expensive schools.
Sports used to be a unifying element in American society. Rooting for your favorite professional team would bind all kinds of folks together. The BLM organization (a Marxist revolutionary group) has duped the players and the owners into thinking that they are all about social justice. Research will discover this group is no more dedicated to “black lives matter” than the TV sitcom “Green Acres” was all about farming techniques. If they were, there would be protests about the slaughter of young black children in Chicago due to gang violence.
Last night the NFL had their season opener in Kansas City. The local team, the Chiefs played the Houston Texans. Before the game there was the playing of the National Anthem and Lift Every Voice and Sing (the Black National Anthem). Unfortunately, the Hispanic, Asian, Native American and LBGQT anthems were not on the program. The Houston Texans could not decide, as a team, how to handle the playing of the two anthems and decided as a team to remain in the locker room. The Chiefs, stayed, stood arm-in-arm during both songs. There was social justice messaging in the end zones, “End Racism” and “It Takes All of Us.”
Players and broadcasters were shocked that the limited number of fans allowed in…booed. The dunces that run the NFL ought to know that fans don’t go to games to be indoctrinated about social justice. If they wanted that, they could stay home and watch CNN. It’s not why they attend NFL games or why they’re fans. Social justice problems will not be solved at a football game featuring slogans, pregame protests or kneeling during the National Anthem.
National unity on this day is in short supply. The practice of wedge politics, driven by the left, attempts to obfuscate the reason we have a Nation that believes human freedom is inviolable. The BLM dogma that demands submission by individuals to their communist agenda has no place in sports, schools, or the public square.
