Gas, Grub & Guns

Unless you’ve been living on a deserted island with a volleyball named Wilson for a friend, it’s obvious that the national economy is in the tank.  A couple quarters of negative economic data plus the Dow Jones heading south faster than a Grizzle Bear running downhill and a hundred bucks for a tank of gas, is all that’s needed to draw the obvious conclusion. According to the Financial Times and the University of Chicago, 70% of economists in the Nation believe the country is moving toward a recession. With that in mind Americans were treated to the following rhetoric.

“Inflation outside of energy and food, what the economists call core inflation, moderated the last two months. Not enough, but it moderated, it’s come down and we need it to come down much more quickly.” (Really?)

“I understand Americans are anxious and they’re anxious for good reason, we have never seen anything like Putin’s tax on both food and gas.” (Who knew that Putin mandated taxes on Americans)

“Since I took office, families are carrying less debt on average in America, they have more savings than they’ve had.” (Sure they do, just ask anyone paying over $5.00 a gallon for gas about their savings account) A misleading claim, using old data from before the current record inflation was a big problem.

For those who just spent a king’s ransom for gas or groceries … let that gibberish marinate for a while. Can anyone guess who put out this hooey last Friday in Los Angeles? The current regime’s cabinet and key senior management personnel are evidence of deliberate cosmetic diversity, without respect to experience. That practice leads to gross incompetence.

These chosen folks are the ones who set national policy and write the speeches that Biden reads.  There isn’t a chance that he edits this baloney. No one who’s been to a gas station or the supermarket can pretend that the country is in the middle of a historic economic boom, as Joe claimed in a speech he read to the AFL-CIO on Tuesday.  At one point he shouted, “I don’t want to hear any more of these lies about reckless spending. We’re changing people’s lives!” (No need to yell Joe, the folks already know you’re changing their lives.)

This is delusion of galactic proportions.

While the Bears are prowling Wall Street, the regime isn’t going to reverse the executive orders that killed incentives to drill for oil and gas or to build refineries and pipelines in this country. No, Joe is off to Saudi Arabia to plead with them to produce more oil for the United States.  Never mind that the Saudis are huge polluters when it comes to production.  Joe’s also trying to work a deal with the corrupt Venezuelans for more oil.

So instead of working on the economic mess the President created, the Congress labored to pass gun legislation that will not end mass shootings. No stricter enforcement of existing laws and background checks. No full-throated support of the police. No harsher penalties for gun crimes.  The lunatics shooting children in schools and grocery stores make up 2.6% of all gun homicides. 2.6%. Everything else is committed by hard core criminals.

Instead, they worked on some more “Red Flag Laws” that will end due process. Due process is foundational to a citizens’ rights, it’s fundamental to what’s great about America. These new laws mean the government doesn’t have to prove you did anything wrong to strip you of your Second Amendment rights. An anonymous complaint in which somebody says you seem dangerous, is all that’s required to punish you. It can come from anyone, including someone who hates you or doesn’t like your politics. The authorities can seize your weapons. No due process. Police state anyone?

Managing the Regime’s message is new White House Press Secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre. She has seized Jen Psaki’s Pinocchio nose with unabashed gusto. So far, Ms. Jean-Pierre has been spectacularly inept. The Nation’s new mouthpiece continues to put out the usual load of half-truths and dubious pronouncements regarding the success of Joe’s governance and Washington expertise on a colossal scale.

Bottom line – looks like no way the Regime is going to deal effectively with gas, grub, or guns. Buckle up for a bumpy ride until the midterm elections neuter this bunch.
