Joy in Chicago
So for those who watched or heard the media reports on the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, the theme was “Joy”, and an alteration of the word was repeated ad nauseum by speaker after speaker. Instead of the tried and true old party theme song “Happy Days Are Here Again”, the Nation got treated to rock, hip hop and rap, even Stevie Wonder and Lil’ John showed up. The Dems were bound and determined to let everyone know that they were the “cool kids” party that their Homecoming Queen Kamala was a proud member of.
Joyous convention delegates and attendees were subject to a Trumpbashathon. A constant theme that echoed every day was that all the woes of the nation: the economy, the border, world chaos and runaway crime in the cities, were the former President’s fault. The only thing he wasn’t blamed for was leading the raid on Pearl Harbor in 1941. The hypocrisy was almost beyond belief.
The Democrats are in cahoots with the media to wipe away the bumbling and fumbling leadership that brought the Nation to its current state. A recent study by Legacy Media found that 89% of the evening news coverage of Harris was positive while 84% of Trump’s coverage was negative. Despite this fawning reportage, 74% of citizens surveyed believe the country is headed in the wrong direction. Hans Christian Andersen could have authored this political fairy tale that Kamalamity and Tampon Tim are selling the folks.
The speakers all thanked Joe Biden for his inspirational leadership and how he rescued the country from the clutches of the Evil Orange Man. A joyful Nancy Pelosi thought he ought to be enshrined on Mount Rushmore. What nonsense coming from her. Even Joe was heard to exclaim “Et Tu, Nancy!” when she and her gang figuratively stabbed him in the back, forcing him to quit the Presidential race.
Naturally, no recent Democratic convention would be complete unless the Nation received inspirational remarks from millionaires and billionaires who are all about lifting up the common folk. Barack and Micelle Obama jetted in from their Martha’s Vineyard estate to throw barbs at Trump and extoll the hope that Kamala represented. Communist millionaire Senator Bernie Sanders, who masquerades as an Independent Socialist, criticized the oligarchs and again trotted out his vision for universal health care that would eliminate all private health care. When she was a “do nothing” four year member of the Senate, Kamala Harris was a co-sponsor of his bill.
After his speech, it’s certain that Bernie retreated to his lakeside Vermont dacha, one of the several estates he owns. Following Bernie, the oligarch billionaire governor of Illinois J.B. Pritzker, whose family owns the Hyatt hotel chain launched into a nasty speech about another billionaire, Trump. The irony of this George Lopez look-a-like waddling on stage after Bernie’s diatribe and attacking Trump was really rich. Finally, the Oprah, Trump’s former friend (he appeared on her show a number of times) showed up, whined about the racism and misogyny she has had to endure from the country that made her world famous and a multi-billionaire. You can’t make this manure up.
Vice Presidential candidate Governor Tim Walz spoke to the delegates and said about Kamala, “I think we owe it to the American people to tell them exactly what she’d do as President before we ask them for their votes.” Then he couldn’t give the Nation an example in his speech of one thing that Kamala Harris has done to improve life in the United States. The giddy Governor was introduced as a coach who led his high school team to the state championship. He was an unpaid assistant coach, but the Dems want you to believe the former. His 24 years in the National Guard was mentioned, calling him a patriot for serving. A view not held by a number of his fellow Minnesota guard members who are still sour that he skipped out on their deployment to Iraq, and yet the campaign video continued to falsify his final rank as Command Sergeant Major. Waving his hands like a loon, he promoted Kamala, the man was joyously weird.
The coup de grace of this four-day festival of hope and joy was the 37 minute teleprompter speech read flawlessly by the Presidential nominee. Definitely, Kamala reads better than Joe, who she did thank for his service. Lots of folks had tuned in thinking that Beyonce was going to entertain. Her appearance was a false flag planted by some operative to hype viewership for sure. Nevertheless, sticking strictly to the script the backroom power brokers wrote for her, she offered a lot of high-minded hooey labeled as “A New Way Forward”. Evidently, the “Old Way Forward” she’s been involved with for the last three years has not worked out.
Kamala opened with her rehash of her early life and how her mother influenced her formative years. That story had been told all week. Yawn. Then she shifted to excoriating Trump. You would think that he was still in office based on her address. She mentioned his name 15 times pasting falsehoods over his positions. Reproductive rights (abortion), always a centerpiece for the Democrats was prominent. Naturally, she claimed that Trump wants "to ban abortion". Trump has clearly stated that this a matter for the states to decide and that the procedure is sometimes necessary. Then she went on to say he wants to cut Social Security and Medicare. Baloney. At no time has he ever advocated any cuts. He recently proposed that the government end taxing Social Security benefits.
Then she claimed he wants to use the military against civilians. This idiotic nonsense was in reference to the Insurrection Act of 1792. That law gives the President the authority to quell violent mayhem if individual states cannot. Trump brought it up when Minneapolis was burning during the George Floyd riots. Other domestic policy positions were glaringly vacant. No word about cutting inflation or increasing energy production but she did mention the border. She’d sign the failed border bill that did absolutely nothing to solve the current illegal immigration fiasco. The root cause of inflation, out of control government spending, nary a word.
Touching on foreign policy, she claimed she warned Putin not to invade Ukraine. How did that work out? Remember she proudly stated that she was the last one in the room with Joe when he finalized his disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal. Yup, she is a real foreign policy expert and will ensure that we have the most “lethal” military in the world. Where has she been the last three years while Joe was cutting our defensive capabilities?
She played the nation like a Stradivarius. This product of the current Regime has weaseled her way to a Presidential nomination. Three months ago she was viewed by a majority of her colleagues in the Democratic Party as a load on the ticket. Now tightly scripted, she is being sold to the Nation like a new soft drink flavor. The problem is that the only way the country finds out how it tastes, is if she is elected. There is no way that her handlers will allow Kamala to take questions from the corporate press without the reporters picked beforehand and the questions known in advance. Unleashed from her teleprompter the word salads that have spewed from her mouth are legendary. But she should know that the press will never call her out.
The Democratic “joyful that they dumped Joe” elites who ran this convention should be ashamed. There were no regular folks given speaking slots but every celebrity and well know party hack like Reverand Al had to give their two cents to the Nation. Their nominee was picked in an out of sight “smoke filled” room aided and abetted by the progressive corporate media. This is not the party of John F. Kennedy, Harry Truman, Adlai Stevenson or even Jimmy Carter.
This is a progressive aberration of a once proud party that elected President Kennedy. They have forgotten the real meaning of democracy by selecting a nominee who never faced the scrutiny of American voters.
No wonder his nephew Robert F Kennedy Jr. endorsed Donald J. Trump for President of the United States. His withdrawal speech blasted media censorship and the coup that Kamala benefitted from. One for the ages.
