Local Elections

The legacy media was gleeful as the election results rolled in from, New Jersey, Virginia, California, and New York City. By and large it was viewed as a repudiation of President Trump and his policies. The Trump Derangement Syndrome sufferers showed up in greater numbers because of their visceral hate of all things President Trump. That’s why the progressives prevailed, but the airwaves were full of inane commentary that had no real basis in the why of the final results. Their collective analysis could not be further from the real truth.

Fact is there is no significance to any of these losses for the Republicans. Consider New Jersey, it has always been a hopeless state for the GOP, and they should just write it off. A Democrat governor will simply ensure that more businesses will depart the state, relocating to Southern states with much lower taxes and 'right-to-work' laws. The business climate in New Jersey has been dismal for years and will only worsen under continued Democrat leadership.

Look realistically at Virginia, a state with a powerful voting bloc of federal workers who enjoy cushy jobs at national taxpayer expense.  Recognize that the Republican candidate had zero chance in a land of federal workers suddenly not getting paid. Is it a "purple state"? Hardly, its deep blue and they only got lucky when Glen Younkin was elected because his opponent Terry McAullife was such a bust.

In California, Governor Gavin “Hair Gel” Newsom engineered a congressional redistricting proposition that passed.  It will give the Democrats at least 5 more seats in the House.  He and his acolytes proclaimed that they were saving democracy from the evil President Trump. This leaves the 40% of Californians who are Republicans even more underrepresented in Congress. Newsom recently said, “There is nothing I dislike more than a politician who sits there and lies to you.” Gavin is a world class liar and that cannot be disputed.

And then there is New York City. It has been said that voters deserve what they vote for, and one can expect that New York City voters will get it and get it hard.  Zohan Mamdani beat the repulsive former Governor Andrew Cuomo, who had to resign as the state’s leader in disgrace. He barely got 50% of the vote, not a big deal as far as the Nation is concerned. The City has 5 million registered voters and half didn’t show up.

A lot of those who did were under 30 years old and proved that a city school system that spends $30,000 a year per student (twice the national average) is incapable of teaching civics. None of these young NYC zealot voters have a clue about the long-term effects of socialism, communism or Marxism and why it hasn’t been successful anywhere in the world. President Thomas Jefferson wrote “The government you elect is the government you deserve.”

Zohan Mamdani is a 34-year-old spoiled, rich radical communist. A child of very wealthy parents, who has never had a real job and wants to abolish billionaires. He has a good chance of abolishing billionaires residing in NYC.  Here’s a breaking news flash…the price of homes in tony Palm Beach, Florida just jumped. Only the New York Post cover headline got it right. “On your Marx, get set, Zo! Socialist Mamdani wins the race for Mayor.”

CNN’s only conservative commentator Scott Jennings, commented on Zohran Mamdani’s win to a panel of progressives. He said, "I'm going to compliment your guy. He's the greatest actor you have. You know, he turned himself into a hood ornament for the poor and the downtrodden. He's a rich kid who is a great actor. He play acts. He play acts."

Surprisingly, CNN’s Van Jones was not a fan of Zohran Mamdani's angry, far-left, rage-filled victory speech. He said “I think he missed an opportunity. I think the Mamdani that we saw in the campaign trail, who was a lot more calm, who was a lot warmer, who was a lot more embracing, was not present in that speech. And I think that Mamdani is the one you need to hear from tonight. I think his tone was sharp. I think he was using the microphone in a way that he was almost yelling.” All he needed was a hundred searchlights pointed vertically and it would have been reminiscent of a certain German ranting and raving in the 1930’s.

Van went on to say, “That's not the Mamdani that we've seen on TikTok and the great interviews and stuff like that. And I wouldn't write him off, but I think he missed an opportunity to open himself up tonight. And I think that will probably cost him going forward."

There’s an old Turkish proverb that states, “The forest was shrinking but the trees kept voting for the axe, for the axe was clever and convinced the trees that because his handle was made of wood, he was one of them.” New Yorkers will soon discover that the Zohan is not the answer to their woes.

It was a sad day for NYC but rest easy, not for America.  The Democrats had a candidate with rizz, running against the corrupt old fossil Cuomo, who ran as an Independent after losing the Democrat primary to Mamdani. The Republicans put up the perennial gadfly Curtis Silwa who has never had a chance every time he’s tried win the mayor’s race.

Tuesday’s election results wasn’t a wipe out for the Republican party, but it was a wipe out of the Democrat party by the Socialists. Nobody in the heartland of America is buying the bullschiff that Mamdani is peddling.

This biggest takeaway from this election is the wise words of former Democrat Speaker Tip O'Neill who said, "All politics is local." So, it’s important to remember that what happens in NYC, stays in NYC.
