Putin Price Hike
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) announced Tuesday was 8.5%, 1% higher than anticipated. In her Monday White House press briefing, the regime’s current Minister of Propaganda, and soon to be MSNBC host Jen Psaki, in an attempt to get in front of the coming number, fired the first defensive volley. With stunning chutzpa, she stated that the historic increase was Putin’s fault. His invasion of Ukraine and the boycott of Russian energy contributed mightily to the rise in ground beef and gasoline prices.
Jen stated, “Because of the actions we’ve taken to address the Putin price hike, we are in a better place than we were last month, but we expect March CPI headline inflation to be extraordinarily elevated due to Putin’s price hike.”
This is, without a doubt, the best “whataboutism” in her 15-month history as White House Press Secretary. Jen could run a successful game of Three-card Monte on a busy New York sidewalk and probably make more bucks than her upcoming gig as a cable news talking head. The real whataboutism is…when inflation was 7% in December 2021, did Vladimir boost prices 1.5% or did he retroactively hike prices to 7% in 2021? When Joe took office in January 2021, did Putin invade his neighbor then? Inflation was 1.4% in January 2021 before Joe started building back better. A documented fact.
All this bologna has given birth to a new hashtag that the regime, led by Jen is pushing with gusto on social media, “#PutinPriceHike”. The blatant disregard for the truth only solidifies the regime’s ongoing search to blame anyone for their continued mismanagement of the national economy. Remember last year, Biden was singing, like an American Idol winner, the praises of his $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief package. That legislation has turned out to be a wasteful and fraud-riddled spend-a-thon that Joe labeled “The American Rescue Plan.” A majority of savvy economists have recognized that this bill, along with attack on domestic energy production, are the key progenitors of the “inflation nation” America has become. Some rescue, eh Joe?
The idea that somehow Putin’s heinous, barbaric invasion of the Ukrainian Nation created today’s economic conditions, is the biggest lie since Fauci told Americans that we needed a couple of weeks to flatten the pandemic curve. Even a prominent democrat also named Joe isn’t buying this bilge about Putin. He’s not the only one either. Senator Joe Manchin issued the following statement Tuesday.
"Instead of acting boldly, our elected leaders and the Federal Reserve continue to respond with half-measures and rhetorical failures searching for where to lay the blame. The American people deserve the truth about why record inflation is happening and what must be done to control it."
Good luck getting the truth from this crew, Senator.
No stopping the Joe in the White House though. Since October when he described inflation as "transitory" the following phrases have been used by him as inflation excuses, "greedy corporations”, "supply-chain bottlenecks" and “oil prices”. In a large Iowa barn Tuesday, he stuck to the current hokum inflation line … “it’s Putin’s fault”. Hey Joe, Vladimir didn’t cancel the pipelines or reinstate the oppressive regulations on energy producers or shutter the energy resources in Alaska.
Meanwhile gasoline prices rose 48% and ground beef was up 23% before Putin invaded Ukraine. As the sticker with Joe Biden’s picture on it says on the gas pump, “I did that!”. Your economic policies are responsible. There is no amount of shameless White House spin-doctoring between now and November 8 that will convince Americans otherwise and ignore the obvious. There’s a strong probability that the Democrats will get their clocks cleaned in the mid-term elections. Joe will be able claim again, “I did that!”
Next time you hear someone call the current inflation catastrophe the Putin Price Hike, tell them to wise up and take a hike.
