The Clueless Generation
American society has assigned names to various generations of the twentieth century and that has continued into the twenty first. Among the memorable generation names are “Lost”, “Greatest”, “Baby Boomer”, “Generations X and Y” (Millennials). The college mush heads currently found protesting the war in Gaza are members are mostly members of Generation Z, with a sprinkling of Millennials. This is the “Clueless” generation, the pro-Palestinian protesters seen on the campuses of the Nation’s elite universities.
They have no idea or understanding how or why this war started. They have bought into the Hamas narrative that’s endorsed by many Democrats and the organized left in the corporate media, entertainment industry, and academia that Israel is guilty of genocide. Nothing could be further from the truth. The Jewish State is involved in a defensive war started on October 7, 2023, by Islamic Hamas barbarians who paraglided and tunneled into neighboring settlements and a music festival. They savagely raped, butchered, and kidnapped nearly 1500 innocent men, women, and children. Where’s the protest for those heinous acts. There is no evidence that the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) has conducted a similar reprisal operation.
In war there is collateral damage, death of civilian noncombatants. Its unavoidable. Historians will point to the fire-bombing of Dresden, Germany or Tokyo, Japan during World War Two. Thousands of civilians died. Hamas has made a regular practice of hiding in schools and hospitals to avoid attack. Innocents are victims of the ensuing battles on these sites. This is well documented but painfully underreported. The Iranian sponsored Hamas media nevertheless has fueled the genocidal story line that the protesters have seized on as an excuse to shut down universities and intimidate Jewish students. The last time this happened was in Nazi Germany when Hitler Youth was running wild, blaming the Jews for the country’s economic ills, demonizing and disrupting Jewish culture. Also preventing their participation in basic education opportunities.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, a graduate of MIT said, “Antisemitic mobs have taken over leading universities. They call for the annihilation of Israel. They attack Jewish students. They attack Jewish faculty. This is reminiscent of what happened in German universities in the 1930s.” He went on to state, “Yet it is Israel that is falsely accused of genocide, Israel that is falsely accused of starvation and all sundry war crimes. It’s all one big libel. But that’s not new. We’ve seen in history that antisemitic attacks were always preceded by vilification and slander, lies that were cast against the Jewish people that are unbelievable, yet people believed them.”
Meanwhile the leader of the Free World remains the oldest member of the “Clueless Generation”. At an Earth Day event in Virginia, Joe Biden was asked about the current antisemitic chaos on college campuses. Joe offered the following, “I condemn the antisemitic protests. That’s why I’ve set up a program to deal with that. I also condemn those who don’t understand what’s going on with the Palestinians.”
Anybody remember the national uproar when Trump opined about the demonstrators in Charlottesville protesting about removal of Civil War Statues? The progressive corporate media and Democrats turned that into the second coming of the Third Reich under Trump. They lied about Trump, claiming he said Nazis are “very fine people”, when in fact he condemned the right-wing extremists and stated that each side had very fine people. Isn’t that the same fine line Joe Biden is walking with his remarks? Not a peep from the national media.
The students demonstrating across the Nation, camping on campus quads in similar REI tents, are being manipulated by proven paid agitators. Early arrests are non-students, known leftists and Antifa-like fellow travelers. Follow the money and you’ll discover a byzantine path that leads to the Mullahs in Tehran who send money to groups like American Muslims for Palestine and Students for Justice for Palestine. Of course, committed old leftist George Soros is involved as well. Doesn’t take a genius to figure this out. These radicals don’t give a damn about Israel. Someone better tell Joe…if he’s alert.
When you look to the future, it is horrifying to think that this “Clueless generation” may find themselves in future positions of leadership. Given their current ignorance of the actual events, it gives one pause. Perhaps if these empty-headed protestors were shown the 47 minute “Bearing Witness” film made from captured body cameras the Hamas attackers had on during their sneak attack, they would change their tune. Scenes of terrorists invading a home, killing a father with a grenade, his two young boys who miraculously survived, crying while the murderers looted their home. Two beheadings shown in full, one done with a garden hoe, the other with a crude knife. Murdered women with blood running down their legs, indicating rape and torture. The terrorists were ecstatic while committing these barbaric acts. The journalists and politicians who have seen this brutal account unilaterally state that it was a life changing experience forever seared in their memory.
We don’t need an agenda driven education system that fails to present the facts. We need one that teaches students to think clearly based on historical truths not obfuscations. Otherwise, this democratic republic is doomed.
