The Potomac Prevaricator

The Washington Post has a fact-checking operation that awards up to four Pinocchios for false statements, truth stretching and out right lies.  If someone gets the dreaded “Four Pinocchio’s”, it’s assured that there is no doubt, an epic whopper has been told. Unless one lives off the grid, in an Alaskan Igloo, it’s well known that the Post is an unabashed liberal paper.

Therefore, when they award President Joe Biden “Pinocchio’s”, it’s a certainty that Joe has gone off prompter script or actually accessed his own Twitter account. In an April 18th tweet, the President said that "congressional Republicans now want to raise taxes on middle class families," and that earned him the award.  Naturally, he added that he would not let that happen.

During a speech on January 13th this year in Atlanta, Joe Biden claimed that he had been arrested defending civil rights as a young boy. He offered the following, “I did not walk in the shoes of generations of students who walked these grounds. But I walked other grounds. Because I’m so damn old, I was there as well. You think I’m kidding, man. It seems like yesterday the first time I got arrested,” There is absolutely no record of that. The Post’s fact-checker, Glenn Kessler, gave him four out of four “Pinocchio’s”, the highest award for making false statements (lies). Well done, Joe.

This penchant for exaggeration is not new behavior for Joe. In his first Presidential press conference Biden said what he was upset about the new Georgia election security law, calling it un-American, misrepresenting it, stating that it ended voting at five o’clock when people are just getting off work, thus limiting voter rights.  Problem is that the law makes no change to Georgia’s election day voting hours, which run from 7 a.m.to 7 p.m. His first award as President got Joe the first of many “Four Pinocchios”.

Now why bring this up? It seems that this President has no concept of the difference between fact or fiction.  Every week his staff must walk back or correct something he blathered. He said he has driven a long-distance semi-truck. Nope. Claimed he was arrested in South Africa attempting to see Nelson Mandela. Nope. Inflation is the result of Putin’s war in the Ukraine and caused by the pandemic. Nope, not one noted economist it the world bought that baloney. Because his pants are always on fire, he should be followed by a fire truck for his own well-being.

He went to Buffalo to comfort the families of those who lost loved ones to a nut case killer. He attempted to connect the scum who committed the heinous crime to his political opponents, implying that Republicans, mainstream conservatives, and the January 6th rioters were abettors in an awful racially motivated hate crime. Nothing could be further from the truth. The shooter was well known to his hometown authorities and school administrators as a bona fide whack job who had serious mental issues. The system did not vet him when he acquired weapons as it should have.

Joe’s speech should have been about the scourge of mental illness, ensuring that the red flag laws already in place, prevent weapon purchases by those so afflicted. An attack on the Second Amendment advocating more gun control doesn’t get it.  A black man interviewed outside the store where the massacre took place said, “It’s the person not the gun.” Clearly Joe doesn’t understand that part of the Constitution and even once said it limited what type of weapon you could own. That earned him another award for demonstrable falsehood.

The media did not have wall to wall coverage of the December tragedy in Waukesha, Wisconsin after they discovered that it was an unhinged black man who ran down white grandmothers in a Christmas parade. That story didn’t fit the white supremacy narrative the progressive left is constantly marketing, nor have they covered the endless black on black crime in Chicago. 5 people were killed and 28 were wounded the same weekend the New York shootings occurred.  Joe Biden didn’t show up in Wisconsin to comfort the families, make a speech and claim we are at risk of losing our democracy…and don’t look for him in Chicago either.

Somehow when the world is off kilter, it might be a really good idea to have a President who is not a befuddled, blathering, prevaricating gaff machine. His latest tweet issued May 13th , bears that out and deserves the coveted “Four Pinocchio’s” award.  He shared this thought, “You want to bring down inflation? Let’s make sure the wealthiest corporations pay their fair share.” No one on the planet thinks that will lower food, gasoline, or housing costs.

Biden would have us believe what he is saying, rather than what we see is happening regarding race, the economy, and his leadership.

The folks are not that ignorant Joe.

“Exploiting a mass murder is despicable, but especially when it’s a political strategy to hang onto power in an election year.”
