XX & XY
There are 23 pairs of chromosomes in human beings. Only one pair determines the sex of the human. Males have the XY one, and females have the XX one. There is no amount of makeup, name changes, clothing, hormones, or genitalia modification that will change the birth gender of an individual.
The most recent example of this fact was clearly demonstrated at the NCAA Collegiate Swimming Championships. Transgender Lia Thomas, a former under-achiever on the University of Pennsylvania men’s swim team as William Thomas, won the 500-yard freestyle at the NCAA National Championships. Olympic medalist, Emma Weyant from the University of Virginia, who won the silver medal in the women’s 400-meter individual medley at the 2020 Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo, finished second, well behind Lia.
As a male, Bruce Jenner was among the best athletes in the world. In the 1976 Olympics he won a gold medal in the grueling 10-event decathlon. Now as Caitlyn Jenner, a well-known transgender, stated that Thomas’ swimming triumphs against women are bogus. “It’s not transphobic or anti-trans, it’s COMMON SENSE!” was Jenner’s tweet after the meet. Caitlyn has opined that it is a well-known fact that even as a trans individual, she has retained greater strength, lung capacity and endurance when compared to woman. She ought to know.
If one is dumb enough to offer such a common-sense driven opinion, there is a substantial risk of being condemned as a neanderthal, right-wing political reprobate — transphobic, homophobic, and tragically intolerant. Even Supreme court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson declined to define what a woman is when questions by Senator Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee during her recent confirmation hearings. Her response was, “I’m not a biologist” when asked. She must have missed the mandatory 9th grade biology class and apparently, she didn’t take the class when at Harvard. No need to teach biology to budding law school students as no lawyer or judge needs to know about the birds and the bees. Common sense has left the planet.
The organizers of the recent Oscar telecast do know what a woman is. For years there has been squawking about the inequality of movie star compensation, male versus female. Three known biological women were the hosts of the telecast. They made no bones about who they were throughout the broadcast. They applauded Will Smith who defended his alopecia suffering wife (a known woman) who was the butt of a tasteless Chris Rock joke about her baldness. Never mind that Rock had no clue about her condition. Evidently biology was evident as Will Smith’s testosterone levels hit record highs, causing him to whack Rock on stage for his comments about his wife, a woman.
The wokeness that pushes the minority drivers of the country’s culture wars was clear when Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a bill on Monday that forbids instruction on sexual orientation and gender identity in kindergarten through third grade. The bill’s sponsors have repeatedly said the measure is reasonable. Parents, not teachers, should be broaching subjects of sexual orientation and gender identity with their children. “We will make sure that parents can send their kids to school to get an education, not an indoctrination,” said the Governor.
LGBTQ advocates, students, Democrats, the entertainment industry, the White House and even the Disney Corporation have denounced what critics have called the “Don’t Say Gay” bill. Never mind that “Gay” never appears anywhere in the legislation’s 1462 words. This culture changing agenda has no place in public schools where the emphasis should be on reading, writing, and developing math and science skills. The children will have plenty of time to be exposed to several alternative existences as they grow up. The education system should not be an active advocate of any lifestyle. There is no compelling need to teach gender fluidity to 5, 6, 7 and 8 year olds. Let kids be kids.
According to a YouGov.com poll 1% of Americans are transgender and 3% of the Nation is gay. No one is denying Lia or other LGBTQ individuals their right to pursue happiness. But their happiness should not come at the expense of the education of our Nation’s children or Emma Weyant, who is the real NCAA Woman’s Swim Champion in the 500-yard freestyle.
After all, what if Lebron decided to become LeBronnie and play in the WNBA?
