ENOUGH

"The world will not be destroyed by those who do evil, but by those who watch them without doing anything." Albert Einstein.

The message about racial injustice has once again resonated throughout the nation.  This time amplified with lawlessness and looting reminiscence of the rioting in days gone by.  Except this time the actual protests over the murder of George Floyd have been co-opted by the far-left anarchists led by Antifa. Honest issues have been lost in the widespread chaos fuel by this movement. Nevertheless, the message is in the forefront.

Currently in the bullseye of this unrest is the President, who is a well-documented racist according to all the usual sources.  Yup, the same guy who received the Ellis Island Award, for “patriotism, tolerance, brotherhood and diversity” along with Muhammad Ali, Rosa Parks, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Cesar Chavez, and Coretta Scott King, in a New York Times article dated October16, 1986.

Of course, prominent black supporters of the President, Dr. Ben Carson, Candace Owens, Senator Tim Scott, Larry Elder to name a just few were not surprised. They’ve known all along that he’s not a racist. Wonder how many citizens know that President Trump did receive this award? After all it was reported in the New York Times.

But the progressive narrative continues as they think that renaming streets after Martin Luther King Jr. or painting Black Lives Matter on 16th Street in Washington DC, will solve and assuage racial iniquities. They should know that these gestures don’t solve one damn problem in the black community. Nor does defunding our police departments help the community. When you call the police for help, you expect a squad car not the dispatcher telling you they’re sending out their thoughts and prayers for your safety instead because the department is understaffed.

We’ve had over 50 plus years of liberal solutions and well over a trillion dollars spent on entitlement programs directed at black communities, and yet we still have massive failure. The nation elected a black President who had 8 years to work on this problem. Nothing happened. There was racial unrest in Baltimore and Ferguson, Missouri. Even his pals at the New York Times  reported on July 13, 2016, the following, “Sixty-nine percent of Americans say race relations are generally bad, one of the highest levels of discord since the 1992 riots in Los Angeles during the Rodney King case, according to the latest New York Times/CBS News poll.”

Mary Frances Berry, prominent black activist and former head of the U.S. Civil Rights Commission acknowledged that the previous administration attempted to polarize America around the issue of race as a way of diverting attention from an anemic recovery and other issues. Now make no mistake, there’s plenty of blame to go around, but to hang this on the current President is patently unfair and a huge departure from the historic nature of the racial crises that have existed for years.  That this current unrest didn’t spring up of over the death of George Floyd is an absolute certainty.

Neighborhoods burned in Chicago during the riots following the 1968 King assassination still haven’t come back. What makes anyone think that the businesses and properties that were destroyed in the latest round of civil unrest are coming back over night?  But the progressive liberal nihilists continue to practice a belief that destroyed businesses and property can be replaced with relative ease.

Watching evil run unchecked in the nation is unconscionable, but not solving the cause is despicable. If we truly want to improve the lives of black Americans, let’s start with insuring that our educational systems are equal regardless of geography. Let’s expand the enterprise zones that encourage business to invest in the inner cities. An emphasis on those issues will go a lot further than continuing the failed programs of the past.

Democrats kneeling today in the Capital building while wearing a Kente cloth shawls and proposing legislation affecting the nation’s police departments is nothing more than a gratuitous photo op and does nothing to solve the racial divide in the cities they’ve run for years.

Enough of the old rhetoric and symbolism from the usual, liberal politicians, black leaders race-baiters.  It’s getting tiresome listening to the same old baloney from Biden, Schumer, Pelosi, the Rev Al, et al.
